When I purchased this vacuum, I was under the impression that its purpose was to *clean* messes, not *make* them. I have pets, so obviously I was in need of a "pet" model vacuum. This vacuum worked well for about a day, but apparently it can't handle pet debris at all. Even after cleaning it out, now all it does is spread pet mess around instead of sucking it up. If it was intended to make a bigger mess, it's doing a great job! But it's not meeting the expectations that I had for it, silly me for thinking I might be able to clean up around the house!

I purchased this vacuum after my previous vacuum broke. The one I had wasn't made anymore and this one seemed the most comparable to what I previously had. After using it, it wasn't comparable at all. I tried to make this vacuum work for two years. It didn't and doesn't. Problems with the vacuum include: -poor suction on rugs -carpet height knob doesn't really do anything- it clicks for adjustment but doesn't actually move the knob -suction on low-carpet floors is so strong you can't move the vacuum -conical-shaped canister makes it so you have to dig into the canister to empty -washable filter gauge is inaccurate -cord storage holder broke off The vacuum does an average job on carpeted surfaces, but I would recommend you look for another choice. I would have thought Hoover could put out a better product than this. I will be going back to a Eureka.

Great suction, but seriously missing very important parts, like long extension tube, and it is a heavy machine. So, just an ok vacuum. Pitiful there is no extension tube. What is provided is only about 14 inches long.

Good vacuum for a small apartment. Does its job for the price! The cord length is reasonable. Easy to put together.

This vaccum works great with pet hair. I have a short hair dog who sheds a lot and this vaccum handles that very well. I have a dyson as well but i prefer to use this one most of the time. I have had it for about nine months and the only problem I am starting to have is that it will just shut off after running for about ten minutes straight. Im not sure if it is over heating or what but it wont turn on for a while after it shuts itself off.

I have 1 long-haired dog and 2 long-haired kitties, so it's tough. But this does a pretty decent job.

Highly efficient vacuum cleaner. Works perfectly in both carpet and hard floor.

Bought this 2 months ago, has great suction and pulls dust and dirt from carpet, but also creates a cloud of dust. After the first month it now shuts down from overheating after around 30 minutes of use. This especially happens when the dirt container starts to get full. Once it shuts off you have to wait 30-60 minutes to continue vacuuming. It was inexpensive, but now I see why. Also, if you buy from Best Buy and don't buy their service plans then you have to go to the manufacturer for warranty service. Even after 60 days Best Buy wanted nothing to do with a problem with the vacuum.

I bought during Christmas time, and I've loved it ever since. It really does the job done. The only thing I would say that's wrong with it is that it does clean up well on hard surfaces (though there is a hard floor option) it tends to miss things or shoots them somewhere else in the house and doesn't always get all the pet hair, but it does get majority.

This vacuum has good suction. Really good at picking up dog hair from the carpet plus sofa.

My fiance and I bought this vacuum on the recommendation of the sales clerk at Best Buy. We were told it was great for pets and my fiance didn't want to spend the money for a Dyson. Ever since the very first usage, this thing will run for approximately 10 minutes and then shut off on it's own. I then have to wait about a half hour or so for it to cool down so I can rush to vacuum more before it shuts down again. There are no words to describe my disgust with this machine. Sad thing is, it's barely 5 months old. Complete garbage. I should have held out for the Dyson.

Great Vacuum. Very easy to retract/wind the chord by itself with push of a lever. Dumping the bin sometime required taking filter out, but is very easy to do as well.

Love this vacuum. I've had it for 3 years and it still works great!!! I've never had a problem with this vacuum. Easy to use and to clean it.

Wow! I am impressed and embarrassed at the amount of dog hair it picked up. I thought my carpets were clean until I used this vacuum. Definitely a great buy. Would recommend it to any long haired pet owner.

It does a really good job with both carpet and hard floors, but it is difficult to clean the dogs hair on the couches. Still we got a good price for it and don't regret it.
