This newer windtunnel model sucks. There is a belt that is very thin and easily breaks. If it grabs a shoe string, a fringe on a rug,, and strong piece of string.It will break the the belt. I have had to replace the belt 5 times so far since buying it. It happens every week that I have tried to use it! It even started to suck up a small area rug with short fringe and it broke the belt! Unless you have wall to call carpets forget this vacuum cleaner. If it grabs a sock I am sure it will break the belt. I paid 100.00 for it and getting it fixed has cost me 50.00! Don't waste your money. Either Hoover needs to build a better belt or a mechanism that will stop the vacuum and not break the belt. I bought it in Sept 2018 and it broke the belt the first time I used. I just used my old one until I got it fixed this spring about three months ago. It is frustrating because almost every time I use it Itthe belt breaks and I have to take it in to get the belt replaced. At least the old Hoover which I have had since 1997 has never stopped working!

Posted .Hi Kenny, thank you for reviewing the Hoover WindTunnel 2 Whole House Rewind Upright Vacuum. Your vacuum has a safety feature called 'Thermal Protector' designed into your cleaner to protect it from overheating. When the thermal protector activates, the cleaner will stop running. When this happens, unplug it from the electrical outlet and empty the dirt cup. Inspect the nozzle inlet, hose connector, hose, dirt cup inlet, pre-motor filters, and HEPA filters for any obstructions and clear obstructions if present. You can use the handle of a broom to push through your hose to ensure there are not any clogs hidden. When your cleaner is unplugged and the motor cools off for 30 minutes, the thermal protector will deactivate and cleaning may continue. We hope this helps!
