Flimsy plastic parts (including handle), oh and it died on me after 6 months of use. Not even hard use, by the way. Just your typical house with 2 dogs needing vacuumed. This is actually the second Hoover upright vacuum I purchased (after the other one died after 1 month of use). If you need a vacuum, don't buy this brand. Hoover used to be good. Who knows, maybe Best Buy just offers the crappy versions so you are forced to buy their protection plan. All I know is when I return this, I'm exchanging for a different brand, like Dyson. It may cost more upfront, but the cost of two Hoovers + the protection plans probably equals one Dyson.

This one is by far worse! The start button takes some real effort to push for it to actually start or stop. The hand tool for pet hair is useless and doesn't actually syck up any hair. The hinges on the cannister flap broke off and now it doesn't 'lock' closed after only having this vacuum for 3 months. Called Hoover customer service at 4:40pm EST on a Friday and it said they weren't open and to call back during normal business hours of 8am-7pm EST then later repeated as 8am-5pm EST. Last time I checked 4:40 was still within both those normal business hours.

This is not the case. It appears it has been removed from the newer models. Since this was the main reason for the purchase it had to be returned.
