I have 2 dogs that love to sit on my couches. They are constantly leaving their hair all over the furniture and carpet. I would vacuum regularly once a week with a basic vacuum cleaner. The first time I used this vacuum I was really surprised at ALL the hair and dirt my old vacuum left behind! The accessories work great as well. The accessories don't have bristles so hair doesn't get tangled in them. Couldn't be happier with this vacuum. I highly recommend it to anyone with pets

I have a pure bred Shiloh Shepherd and the amount of hair he sheds, well, let's put it this way, it's more hair than all the other dogs I have ever had, combined!!! So when this (the original) vacuum died, I tried to upgrade to the new Hoover for Pets with the Swivel and extreme suction.... It died within 3 months of purchase, so I went back to the original (this one) and I couldn't be happier!!!!! I'd give it 10 stars if I could, lol

I did my research and this is one of the better choices for carpeted home with pets. Only complaint is that the retractable power cord is finicky. It wont always retract back into the vacuum.

I was very pleased with the vacuum cleaner when I got it put together. The bag less vacuum picks up crazy amounts of dirt. My only complaint is trying to vacuum the stairs, it is a little bulky so it doesn't sit on the stairs very well which means you have to move it almost every stair or it will fall. Other than that it is a great vacuum cleaner. Easy to empty and no bags if course. Also the retractable cord is awesome. This vacuum is a lot better than it predecessors.

IN FAIRNESS TO MY OLD MIELE, IT WAS 12 YEARS OLD. I WAS NOT WILLING TO SPEND $600 AGAIN FOR A NEW ONE OR TOO MUCH TO REPAIR IT. THE HOOVER PET PRO SEEMED TO MEET MY NEEDS AND $169 WAS LESS THAN WHAT IT WOULD HAVE COST TO REPAIR A 12 YEAR OLD VAV, WELL, WAS I EVER THRILLED AFTER THE FIRST USE OF MY NEW HOOVER! I COULD NOT BELIEVE THE DOG HAIR, DIRT AND ARM & HAMMER CARPET POWDER THE MIELE HAD LEFT BEHIIND. NOW I JUST HAVE TO HOPE IT LASTS 12 YEARS.

Very powerful machine works extremely well on the pet hair on the sofas, I really love my new machine!

Have used it a few times now. It has great suction. Easy to clean out with the bag less canister.

Have had this vacuum for about 6 months. 2 kids and a yellow lab at home so there is no shortage of crumbs and dog hair on our carpets and hardwoods. This is the best vacuum we've ever owned. It cleans everything thoroughly and I'm always amazed to see how much it picks up. The cup is easy to empty and I am thankful I don't have to mess with bags anymore. I'm curious to see how the suction holds up over time, but so far so good. No complaints and highly recommend.

I purchased this vacuum hoping it would last longer than my last Dyson 'Animal' vacuum. It's been almost a year and it's still running strong. It's a simple vacuum with minimal accessories. A brush and a tapered pipe for edges and trim. You can either vacuum with the brush or without. We have tile throughout the first floor so I normally vacuum without the brush. We have two dogs that shed A LOT so we're vacuuming every other day if not every day. The handle comes off in two parts. One method is to have the short handle to vacuum short distances while the other method is to pull out the rest of the pipe for an extra 2 ft. It's nice but getting between the fridge and wall is difficult because the pipe is about 1-1/2" thick. As mentioned before I have dogs so I'm constantly vacuuming dog hair all over the house without the use of the brush. What I discovered is, when you don't use the brush and transition from tile to carpet, the hair you thought you were vacuuming is actually stuck/tangled to the bottom of the vacuum. So, when you're on the carpet, all the hair that wasn't sucked up is now spread across the carpet. No worries though, because when you turn on the brush, it sucks up all the hair. If this model vacuum is still around after I run this one into the ground, I will definitely purchase it again.

Vacuum works great on all types of floors. Easy assembly and works as good if not better than the dyson pet vacuum we were using at only a third of the cost.

Great suction for carpet and floors plus the attachments make it easier to clean couches and stairs

This product was to replace the sharp canister filter at one day complete lost suction. Very simple to use and love the retracting cord. The only downside is I wish it was a bit quieter.

I got this for nearly half off through a Deal of the Day promotion (only about $60!!), and I couldn't be happier with it. Although a little bulky compared to other standard vacuums (Hoovers do tend to run a little chunkier in size), it does make up for raw suction power. The retractable cord is also a nice built-in option. Finally, the bagless dump function is also really convenient. Can't really go wrong with this unit.

the old vacuum was dying and we need a new one. Best Buy sales rep. was very helpful and knowledgeable. He did a quick internet search and matched the best price he found. This vacuum works like a charm.

Works great. Light weight and easy to use. Works great with pet hair and anything else.

Pros: Has great suction for picking up pet hair, Pet tool seems to work well on furniture and stairs, auto rewind of cord is handy. Cons: Vacuum is harder to push due to suction, even on the high carpet settings, Foot pedal to turn off roller vs being automatic takes time to get used to, Plastic latch on the canister that collects the hair/dust is the same old design that broke on my last Hoover.

Wife complains that it’s heavy but for me it’s fine. Plenty of suction and very inexpensive !

This vacuum is very powerful and does a wonderful job picking up dog hair. Very easy to empty canister.
