Posted .Hi bionicegg! We have an idea as to why your Hoover Air shuts off during cleaning. Our products are designed with thermal protectors and will only activate in the event there is a clogged filter or obstructed hose. To ensure that this does not occur, we recommend you remove the primary filter and rinse it under running water. After doing this, be sure to let it air dry for 24 hours. You may also remove the HEPA filter and tap it out against the inside of a waste can. To check the hose, press the hose release button and insert a broom stick through to clear out any obstructions. After doing these steps, your vacuum should run without any interruptions. Let us know if this helps!

Unfortunately I didn't realize how much of a disaster this particular model is until after the 14 day Best Buy return policy. The traction is terrible, I feel I have to wrestle with it just to get it to cover the areas that need cleaning. Small head leaves a big mess as the roller gets immediately stuck with hair and other things. Suction is terrible! Try going over something 10 times before you're done... ;-( If you have pets, this one will NOT do the trick. Choose something else!
