Good vacuum to get the job done

Awesome vacuum!

Has a long cord which is nice, very lightweight, great suction power, amazing extensions to reach high ceilings, and easy to clean. We couldn't afford a Dyson so this was what we got and it's a great alternative, HIGHLY recommend it. The price is not bad, wish I would've bought it on sale or something but for everything it does and how it cleans I can't complain. You can't adjust height for carpet but I don't need it and I just use one of the tools to clean bare floor. Another great feature is it is NOT a loud vacuum. It does not scare my 1 year old so she loves it and even helps me vacuum sometimes! Can't go wrong with it!!!

Posted .Hi Argh! To ensure optimum suction at all times, we recommend emptying the dirt cup after each use and checking the features periodically. If there is a minor clog or dirty filter in the machine, it will diminish the suction. Also, when vacuuming carpets, double check if the brushes are spinning. This particular product has a brushroll shut off feature right above the power button that may be pushed unconsciously. Hope this helps! -Giselle, Hoover Customer Care

This sweeper is horrible

When using on low pile area rugs, the sweeper suction will not allow the sweeper to be pushed as it sticks to the carpet. I assumed that the sweeper was broken or that there was a adjustment to prevent this from happening but this is not the case. I read a similar review and the response was to buy a more expensive Hoover that has a height adjustment. I will be returning shortly.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I go through a lot of vacuums, mostly because I can't spend $200+ so try to find the best of the bargain models. This is a big improvement over other machines in this price range because you can turn off the roller--so you don't just shoot dirt/crumbs all over your wood/tile/laminate floors. It felt like a lightweight toy compared to my old vacuum, but seems to clean well. The major drawback is the design of the cleaning wand. You have to unhook the suction line from the base vacuum and hook in the cleaning wand in a way that doesn't seem at all intuitive. I'm surprised this feature made it passed the design phase. And I'm also disappointed that there's no brush roller attachment to get pet hair and crud off of furniture. That seems to come standard even at this low price point, so am surprised at the limited attachments (just 2 that are oddly connected to one another and stow awkwardly on the back). In all, though, I'm pretty happy with this vacuum and think this is about the best you'll do at this price point--I've accepted that the machines in this price group all represent a bit of a compromise and you get what you pay for.
