Better for bigger hands

They’re a lot like the Xbox controller but split in half for the switch. You cannot use them outside of handheld mode.

A Great Handheld Mode Alternative for At-Home Use

Can't be used as individual JoyCon as they have no batteries (and the orientation wouldn't work that way anyway) but for handheld mode this is far superior to just using 2 JoyCon. Much less portable this way, though. For in-home use, however, they're wonderful.
