Perfect for bigger hands
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a replacement for my joycons that fit bigger hands. These are perfect. I stopped using my switch in handheld because of the joycons being too small.

Great controllers for playing Switch handheld mode
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I got the Hori Split Pad Pro controllers today, and I'm glad I did. First of all, they're cheaper in price than the regular joycons, which boggles the mind. 2nd of all, they are very comfortable for when playing handheld, which is the only way I play the Switch. The 2 protruding grips are there to rest your fingers against, and it makes a huge difference in comfort. The buttons and +pad are a bit bigger. The joysticks are much looser, which made me nervous at first, that they'll break off. But I tested them, and they're very sturdy. The thickness of the controllers are such that the screen looks "deeper", not sure how else to describe it. I like it, maybe it's my imagination, but to me it improves the screen images by blocking glares. There are "assign" & "turbo" buttons at the bottom for you to assign a function button to something else during gameplay. You don't have to go to the game settings to do this. The turbo feature is for you to have continuous fire for a shooting game without continuously pressing a button. I haven't tested this yet. There is also a button on the back of each controller, which can be assigned a function. You can simply use these buttons by squeezing your fingers on the grip. Personally, I'm not that crazy about them, since I tend to squeeze my Switch during intense moments of gameplay, and may accidentally do something I don't want to do. I have two cons about the controllers, but they're minor. One, there are no rumble features. I do like that on the regular joycons, but I played a game using the Split Pad Pro, that had rumble features, and I barely noticed that it wasn't there. Two, the front of the controllers are made of a very smooth plastic. I like to keep my thumbs on the controllers when they're not on a button or joystick, and sometimes they slip on the smooth plastic. Like I said, not a biggie, but I do have to get used to it. I do love the back of the controllers, however. They're made of the same plastic, obviously, but it's textured, not smooth, for a much better grip. I highly recommend these controllers.

Why did i wait to get this?!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A game-changer!! Even after the great reviews and how nice these look i was worried about how big these looked to make the switch. However i do have bigger hands and with the original switch attached controllers my hands would get that tingling numb feeling only after a little bit. Will with this thing those days are over! Amazingly how wider these make the switch actually feels SO MUCH better! Way more comfortable to hold and makes the entire switch feel even more premium! These are light weight but feel of a premium build! The joysticks are AMAZING! Really smooth and feel like a high end controller. D pad is responsive and all the buttons have a nice push to them. I got the black with red lettered buttons. matches my grey switch well. Do not hesitate to get this! It truly is a game changer! very impressed and worth the money, not to mention no internal batteries to worry about dying or wearing out!

Great for Handheld Mode Only
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have petite hands and I even find the Switch's joycons to be too small and uncomfortable. My first impression of the Hori Split Pad Pro is that it's bigger than I thought. The joystick is big and high and probably meant for bigger hands. I don't mind that it makes the Switch longer but I find that my hands would need to travel quite a bit just to reach all of the buttons. The Split Pad Pro is light and I like the feel of the buttons. It was very easy to set up and it feels secure when it is connected to my Switch. The biggest disappointment for me was that the Switch won't let me remap the buttons in the settings. The Hori Split Pad Pro is more comfortable than the Switch's joycons but does not have the same versatility. You lose all of the features of the Switch's joycons. The Split Pad Pro does not have rumble or it's own battery source so I think the price is quite expensive for what you get. With that being said, I prefer using the Hori Split Pad Pro on handheld mode over using the Switch's joycons and I'm very happy with my purchase.

GREAT
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second split pad pro because I started to get drift on my first pair. NOW WAIT!!! That’s not a knock against these things at all. I play my Switch A LOT!! Eventually things wear out, so I blame me more than the split pad. I play 100% handheld so these were my only go-to controller. The fact that I am buying them again is the plus. These are comfortable for me. I have medium sized man hands and my thumbs rest perfectly on the thumb sticks. The buttons are nice and large. I just felt these were great. Okay, if I’m being honest there were a couple negatives but they didn’t bother me much. The is NO rumble, NO gyro controls and you can NOT use these detached from the screen. There also is NO amibo support. None of those I care about so no big deal to me. There is one thing that did annoy me; the A, B, X, Y lettering on the buttons wore off. If I didn’t have them memorized, I wouldn’t know what button is which. So some of that is my fault because I play so much but really, the shouldn’t not wear off at all. So overall, I love these things. For longer play sessions, these won’t cramp your hands like the joycon will. I gave it a 3 star on value because there are some othe controllers online like the binbok controllers that are the same size, same price and work just as well, but they have rumble, gyro, etc…

More comfort, less quality
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fits larger hands way better than the Joycons but feels cheap and hollow, it also lacks some of the Joycons key features (vibration, gyro, wireless) Definitely recommend for those looking for a more comfortable and controller like grip, don’t recommend if you are looking for a joycon replacement.

The Joy Con Killer
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice and chunky, feels good in the hands. They feel like a professional controller chopped in half in the best possible way. They even fit into the dock if you don't wanna store them in your drawer. The sticks are very durable and can easily take punishment when playing games like Super Smash Bros Ultimate that would be intense on other Joy Cons, and the mappable buttons on the rear are great for more technical games like Monster Hunter when you need to use an item and can't afford losing a second of focus. The one thing that people may find a downside is the lack of rumble, amiibo support, and support for remapping in the Switch's settings, but if those aren't something you usually use then they're a definite recommendation to purchase.

Comfortable grip, ideal for handheld Switch player
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're reading this review, you're probably considering your alternatives for Nintendo Switch controllers. While the standard Nintendo Joy Cons are versatile and revolutionary in their own right, they are rather small and become uncomfortable during an extended gameplay session; I found the Hori Split Pad Pro controllers resolve this exact issue. They make the handheld gameplay experience much better, especially if you have adult size hands. Furthermore, they are quite affordable and have Nintendo's official branding and sanction behind them. There's no janky technology by a 3rd party company to be concerned about here. I actually bought the Hori Split Pad Pro specifically for the Turbo button. For those who don't know, you can program a button to be pressed repeatedly, which is very useful for games that require spamming A or grinding a repetitive action like inventory management, etc. My specific use case was to automate Alolan trades in Let's Go Pikachu, and it works great! Now for the all positives noted, there are some drawbacks or limitations to consider. For one, you cannot use motion controls or connect wirelessly, it's exclusively an upgrade for your handheld gaming. The Hori Split Pad Pro also does not fit easily into standard sized Switch carrying cases, so they're best used in the comfort of your home, but could be used on the go too. Overall, I would definitely give these controllers a try if you enjoy the classic "Gameboy" feeling on your Switch. The additional turbo functionality is sort of niche, but definitely solved my problem!

Great Controller for Nintendo Switch Handheld Mode
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great choice as alternative controllers for joy cons in handheld mode. Very comfortable controllers for long gaming sessions. Easy to grip and feels like you’re playing on an actually controller. Absolutely amazing Pokémon themed design. I like the character art of Pikachu and Lucario and the complementary color scheme. Although the controllers do not have all joy con functions such as HD rumble, gyro, and NFC reader, it is still a great pick for the price. Regardless, I would suggest purchasing if you often play the Nintendo Switch in handheld mode. Overall, I enjoy using the Hori Split Pad Pro and would highly recommend to buy.

Some of the same flaws as original joycons.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was given to me for my birthday, and at first Ioved them. I got these Dec 28th, 2023, and today is January 8th, 2024, and these have just started experiencing the same drift as the original joycons have, which I was hoping wasnt the case. These also can’t be used wirelessly, which is kinda annoying, they also can’t be used to turn the console on at all, they only work when the screen is lit. Overall disappointent, was hoping for wireless support as well, and no joycon drift. Buy something better if you want different switch controllers.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was actually for my grown son...in his 30s and he loved it! I was about to purchase the original type and brand of joycons then saw this. It's half the price, works perfectly, harder to break than the originals. So yes I would absolutely recommend!

Works great for my 12 year old and extended the life of his switch. This product does not have all joycon features but for most games it's fine, like fortnite.

Very helpful
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Whether it be this or the split pad compact, they are slightly bigger than the official joy-cons, and better despite the lack of electronics, so to be fair deposit it is, it’s big enough and it’s more ergonomic for your hands, the only downside is, there is no NFC there is no rumble, and there is no motion controls what that still does not make it any less worth it, I have used these and previous models of this 3-4 years. No drift.

Perfect for its use case
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Hori Split Pad Pro makes the handheld experience much better by giving you a proper controller. It is comfortable for long sessions and fits in the docking station without needing to detach. The one drawback is it does not support rumble or gyro controls, so if those are necessary for you, this will not be the controller for you. I do not need rumble/gyro, so I love it.

A Must Have for Any Switch Owners
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let’s face it, joy-cons aren’t great. When playing docked, the go-to is the Pro Controller. But what about when playing on-the-go? The Split Pad Pro is essentially the handheld equivalent. While they may appear to look heavier, they’re actually quite lightweight. While gyro, HD rumble, and amiibo scanning are missing features, these provide comfort and quality to the handheld experience that are very much absent with the standard joy-con. Oh yeah, let’s not forget these offer turbo buttons!
