Customers are saying
Customers praise the product's exceptional comfort, solid overall performance, and versatile size, noting its good grip, great feel, and lightweight design. However, they express disappointment regarding the lack of rumble and vibration support, as well as its inability to be used wirelessly. Additionally, some customers report that the product drains battery quickly, though concerns about drift are not prevalent.

Much more comfortable than the JoyCons
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My hands aren't particularly large, but the standard JoyCons are so uncomfortable, im surprised anyone except for children can use them to play a game for longer than a few minutes. I was unable to use the Switch in handheld mode because my hands would cramp trying to use rhe JoyCons. Once I saw this SplitPad was available and read others' reviews, I knew I had to have it. It certainly doesn't disappoint. It's almost as comfortable as the Switch Pro Controller, and the addition of the extra triggers at the back, which can be reassigned, is actually useful and I now find myself wishing the Pro Controller had the same feature. The only negatives are: 1) each of the extra rear trigger buttons can only he assigned to a button its resoective side. For example, you can't assign the left rear trigger as A,B, X, Y, R, Zr, or R3 (or whatever the button is called by Nintendo - the right stick button). 2) No rumble 3) They can't be used without being attached to the Switch (although Hori does sell an accessory that allows you to use them as a wired controller , though its around $25), and 4) No motion control - (though I'm not exactly a big fan of motion control anyway)

Solid for comfort, but missing some key features
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are a good pair of joy-cons- I like how they make the handheld more comfortable and allow easier access to most buttons. My reason for only 4 stars would be that they feel a bit cheap in hand and lack a lot of features that I think should be included for $50. Wireless, rumble, be able to turn on the switch with the home button, are the ones I wish they had.

Comfortable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is way more conformable than the original joycons. I bought these to play handheld, you can't use them on their own and they don't have a separate battery. My hands don't hurt when i use these on the switch

Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m going to start by saying that while I appreciate many of the design elements of the switch — I struggle with the joy-cons. They feel so minute in my hands, and overall I just find them uncomfortable and difficult to use. The joy-cons are what keep me from loving the switch. I pre-ordered this controller the second I saw it — and I have no remorse. It is exactly what I was expecting. As for their size and the fact they make playing the switch as a handheld even wider — this is a controller that presents itself to be like a full-size console controller — how else could it do that without making the switch wider? With that said — the feel of this thing is like an Xbox controller only split in two. So depending on what your expectations are this is so far the best solution for people like me — people who want the feel of a full-size console controller when playing the switch as a handheld. I use the Pro controller when the switch is docked, and this is my new portable set-up. Yes, you can still charge the switch in it’s dock with these attached. No, there’s no rumble. This controller doesn’t have a battery, so you don’t need to charge it. But it’s responsive and utterly natural feeling. I sat down to try it out & ended up playing 4 hours of Dragon’s Dogma.

Good substitute
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The controller is a good item for people with big hands. It does have quite a few downfalls. No vibration, they are very light, you cannot use them wirelessly, etc. Just to wore people. They are still good so you’re not using the small joy cons on the go. It helps my hands not cramp up. I would just be caution before buyer so you know what you’re getting.

Worth The Buy
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these as a replacement for the joycons when i'm on those long trips and they were worth it! they feel great in my hand and having a grip makes it feel like it won't fall from my hands unlike the joycons. they're not wireless or have a vibrate feature but its not a big deal if you're just looking for something to be used handheld.

Great product
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Light years better than joycons. Very comfortable and back paddles work great. Only downside is each paddle only sync's with with a button on the same side of controller, and theres no rumble.

Precision gaming
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s the best alternative to joycons. Works great for FPS shooters. Alot more comfortable than the joycons. Best of all, no deadzones in the joysticks. If precise aiming is what you’re after, this is it. Note: not wireless (must be connected to the switch for power), no rumble, no gyro aiming, and no nfc for amiibos.

Good, not great
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall this controller is better than the normal joycons, but there are a few things I don't like. The first thing is the two mappable buttons on the back of each controller. I don't really have a use for them so I haven't set them up, but I can feel them constantly while using the controller and it just gets annoying after a while. Would have preferred a smooth back. The second is the right analog stick position. It's placed just close enough to the ABXY buttons that the side of my thumb rubs against it as I'm pressing those buttons. Lastly, there is no rumble feature which I didn't realize before buying. Not very important but would have been nice.

Nice alternative
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great pad for comfort grip. It does make the feel of the console a little wide though, but it securely connects tot he rails without any wiggle. No rumble or gyro, but it’s a good alternative if you don’t mind those. Turbo mode gets a bit of getting used to in order to activate and deactivate it

Worthwhile purchase for handheld mode enthusiasts
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very comfortable! All the buttons are top-notch quality. It is missing some features, most notably rumble and gyro. But it makes playing the Switch in handheld mode very enjoyable. My only gripe is that some of the small, lesser-used buttons are rubber, which catches lint. But it’s a minor annoyance.

Great feeling controls but did not fit my needs
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing feel and quality but for a few reasons not for me. - no vibrate/hepatetic feedback - will not fit in switch dock mounted to wall (anything that increases the thickness of the dock)

They don’t drift like joycons
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A good alternative to using joycons in handheld mode and they don’t drift. They work good and are comfortable. They only work for handheld mode they don’t work wirelessly when your switch is connected to the TV.

Good quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The spit pad pro works great, my kids love that they offer better grip for the Nintendo. The quality is also very good its taken many unfortunate falls and works perfectly fine.

Game changing (pardon the pun)
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My L/XL hands would often become uncomfortable playing the Switch in handheld mode, I'd prefer waiting until I could be somewhere to set it up on a table or counter and use my pro controller. But since getting these, now I have played frequently for long periods and my hands feel fine! The back buttons are helpful and I LOVE the Turbo! When you need it, it comes in clutch. It's also surprisingly light despite its appearance, and honestly I'm fine without vibrations, but that's your call.

Better than expected!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to pick these up since my kids decided to steal mine from my switch. I couls have grabbed them back but now they are gross since the kids used them :) I honestly love these more than the original joycons. No drift. Very comfortable in the hands and the way they look is better than my original red joycons (using the red Mario switch). I did quite a bit of research before picking these up and they were highly recommended.

Close to perfect…
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ive only been using for a few hours, but overall its a great substitute for the stock JoyCons while in handheld config. Its just missing a few features…. First and honnestly largest flaw, the additional button…. You can only map it to a button on that same side. So you cant map the left back button to the “B”/Back button. That is honnestly my biggest issue. The other 2 issues are “hardware” related that i woul gladly pay an extra $20-30 for if they were included…. No vibration/feedback… really??? Everything newer then N64 has this feature…. And theres no Gyro/Motion sensors. Otherwise these are great controllers to gove more of a xbox confort feel while playing in handheld mode. Hopefully theres a v2 out that includes the mentioned missing hardware features.

Like holding a real controller!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this works great. The controls are very responsive and accurate. There is no drift so far unlike the joy cons, plus they fit my hand so much better. They don’t feel very substantial and maybe a bit flimsy but overall quality seems good.
