Horizon Zero Dawn, despite its generic word-salad title, is an incredible open world action game that pits you against legions of robo-dinosaurs as you venture across an intensely beautiful landscape. The gameplay is tight and focused, blending stealth and ranged combat seamlessly, and the story is one of the best I've seen in a game. Worth every penny!

A lot of thought and care was put into the details and story of this game. Without giving away any spoilers I will say its a adventure action game with rpg elements that tells the tale of a woman in a world where machines that resemble different animals have decimated humanity to the point that its on the brink of becoming extinct. Humans live in sectioned off tribal communities and the game is all about fighting and figuring out what happened. I would say pick up this game if you own a ps4 as its a must have exclusive.

This game is literally the best PS4 game I have ever played. It is playable for hours, incredible control, great weapons. LOTS of fun.

This is a great action RPG. I bought a PS4 Pro specifically for this game and it looks fantastic. The story is well written and engaging. The side quests don't feel like they are just there as fluff. The RPG elements and action are well balanced. The combat is fun and doesn't feel repetitive. If you like the Witcher then you will also enjoy this game.

This game is an absolute masterpiece. The graphics, sound, and story all draw you in to a massive open world that is somehow still guiding you forward. You want to explore and learn as much as you can but you also can't help but progressing the main quests just to see what happens next. I can't wait for more content in the DLC and an eventual sequel.

I can't overstate how visually beautiful this game is. You could spend days just exploring and marvelling at the sights and sounds of the world the game builders have constructed. I know I have. The story is really compelling and interesting, yet I am lingering. In my household we have two PS4s and two types of players. My boyfriend is a hard charging battle ready player who likes to power through a game as soon as he gets it. He spent about a week finishing this game, on normal level, playing 6 or 7 hours a night. I am still near the beginning, meandering through the a bunch of side quests, exploring on easy which lets you "mainly explore the world" without too many challenges. I've probably played for about a week for 3 hours a day. I expect to play for another month or so, meanwhile he has moved on to another game. I am still engrossed in this one. So it really depends on your style. He does keep asking me about Horizon Dawn... have you got to this part, or that part etc.? Clearly he wants to discuss the story. :) He gets very excited when he sees me go into my gaming room. So highly recommended especially if you like story games. The interface reminds me a lot of Tomb Raider, the most recent one, but which a much richer story and world.

I have never seen a game so visually stunning with such amazing deep story. I would place this game in the top 5 all time for me!!!

This is a great and fleshed-out open world game. Controls are a blast and taking down giant beasts gives a sense of accomplishment.

I went into this game without any hype and it was probably one of the best game since last of us came out. The open world was gorgeous, the story line was captivating and the gameplay was smooth. If you're looking to throw some hours into an RPG, then this is a must own. The only thing missing for me is an online mode, but hey you can't have everything.

One of the best games to be released in 2017, Horizon Zero Dawn imagines a world where society collapses and human kind is no longer the dominant species. In the new world, humans must learn to live with large machines which populate the planet. The open world map is large, with plenty of things to do. Expect a campaign which lasts over 30 hours as well. And if finish the game and still want more Horizon, a new piece of DLC exists called Frozen Wilds which adds an additional section to the world map as well.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a game that follows a lot of the tropes seen in open world games such as Assassins Creed, such as collect x amount of resources gathered from killing animals or found in robots so that you can upgrade your character as well as the world around you (scaling giant robots to unveil the map). With that said what sets this game apart from other open world games that become more of a chore throughout their playthroughs are the story, music, visuals, and overall amazing bow play. The bow play enables you through various upgrades found in your skill tree to completely decimate your robotic animal foes by destroying protective layers of Armour as well as several destructible parts of their body. The bow play is very satisfying however the melee combat falls very short, thankfully you don't really have to use the melee combat too often other than stealth kills. I truly enjoyed Horizon Zero Dawn as the ps4 in 2017 continues to pump out an excellent amount of exclusives. I highly recommend this game and urge every gamer to push past the early portion of the game until you receive enough skill points that truly open up the combat experience. There are alot of things I have not mentioned but go out and buy this game now.

This new series from Guerrilla games needed to hit a home-run with it's first entry, and it hit a grand slam. Combat that is unlike any other game and get better and better the more you play. A world and story with a mysterious feel keeps you playing wanting to see its conclusion. Alloy is an amazing new character and the best one in many years.
