I usually prefer shooter heavy games and this game does contain a lot of combat. But it also has a heavy RPG component to it. I'm about four hours in and really enjoying it so far. Graphics are exceptional. Game play is fluid. Story is engaging. Thumbs up from this reviewer.

The formula in which Horizon operates under is nothing new to videogames. It's not innovative, it's not groundbreaking, but it is rather refreshing in the sense that it's such a simple formula and Horizon doesn't try to be anything else it's not. Go from point A to Pont B, fight enemies and collect materials along the way, and complete the task all while leveling up and unlocking character skill trees. It's not overly complicated in what it does and it's extremely fun figuring out ways to defeat enemies on your own. Horizon does a GREAT job at just letting you play without holding your hand and telling you what you need to do...that, in itself, is refreshing in the sense that you feel accomplished when you defeat an enemy in a way that you, yourself, thought of instead of the game telling you. The world is absolutely breathtaking in terms of visuals and the variety of landscapes make exploration even more appealing. From deserts to jungles, to swamp lands and snowy mountains, the scenery is varied and beautiful no matter where you may find yourself. If you enjoyed games like Tomb Raider, The Witcher 3, and even Skyrim; you should seriously consider picking up Horizon Zero Dawn.

This is one of the best looking games I have ever played. Lots of fun and plenty to do. If you own a ps4 this is a must play.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is an amazing open world adventure. Forgive my title, but it's true, if not for this year's Zelda release, Horizon would be the number one contender for game of the year. A beautiful open world, amazing combat/hunting system, loads to do, and a reasonably interesting story combine to make a stunning game experience.

If you like adventure games , this one has a good story & outstanding gameplay. Can't wait for explanation DLC to release ..

that sums up this terrific game that has received numerous excellent reviews from all sources. Elements from Far Cry like the collection and crafting system is present. Yes a copied lack of creativity, but why withdraw a nice idea. Graphics are phenomenal even on regular ps4. Storyline and controls are good too and the world is expansive.

I can't fully explain how much fun the combat is in Horizon: Zero Dawn. I haven't been so engrossed in the little things for quite some time. The level up system is fantastic, the world is beyond gorgeous and the musical score makes everything feel important. The story is mysterious and kept me engaged throughout. Must buy for PS4 owners.

I was a little skeptical about this game in the beginning. It seemed like a strange mix to have machines and primitive humans in the same world. I kept looking at reviews and when I was given a $20 gift card to Best Buy, I decided to give it a try. By far the best purchase I've made this year! This game is like nothing I've ever played before. I enjoy sandbox style games and this one takes it to the next level. It has every kind of terrain and setting all bundled together in one, with dynamic weather that makes it more exciting. It's all done using hyper realism, making the world jump out of the screen. The gameplay is amazingly fun, with new enemies and weapons giving you a surmountable challenge. So much detail went into the characters and story that it took me close to 60 hours to finish everything that there was to do and at no point was I ever getting tired of playing. I used to play video games all the time as a kid and only recently bought a PS4. This game has made it completely worth it. With nearly endless possibilities, a beautiful world, exciting gameplay, and an amazing story, there is not reason why anyone with a PS4 wouldn't have this in their library!!!

I didn’t know what to expect when I bought it. But the story is amazing and the gameplay is also both fun and challenging.

This turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time. The gameplay is amazing, the world is amazing, the art is amazing, and the story is amazing. It's an all around fantastic open world game. The setting is so unique as well and it is an absolute blast to play this game. If you have a PS4, you have to buy this game.

When I first saw trailers for this game I was not the least bit interested. Even after watching gameplay videos it didn't seem to tickle my fancy. Since I heard it was such a great game I decided to buy it when it got cheap. This game is one of the best PS4 games currently on the system and I am completely blown away by everything in this game. If you like open-world action adventure rpgs with a fully detailed world and great combat system I highly suggest this. I am currently hooked!
