Great game, great price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing game with amazing graphics. Even without the DLC this game is worth the price at full price. Lots of exploring and challenges. Even better receiving item on sale for $10

Short but great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is fairly short, but it's great. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is smooth and solid, the story is kind bad, but everything is fun. And the expansion has horses!

Must have for PS4
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the best games I have played for the PS4. Reminds me of Red Dead Redemption in a way, and would say everyone should try it at least once. Game is quite slow at times, but still fun.

Excellent
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent game that does all the right things with stealth, action, and adventure. Only downside is a lot of resources don't stack, so you can't be a hoarder in this game lol.

A TRUE MASTERPIECE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If You own a Ps4 you need to go out and buy this game right this second. This feels like an action rpg rather than a 1st person shooter in my opinion-easily one of the best of all time!!

Polished, Pretty; Otherwise Fairly Conventional
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited when this game was first unveiled. Crazy machine enemies, a bow-weilding main character, a huge open world to explore--what more could I ask for? It didn't hurt that the game is very pretty and polished either. However, for all the things the game does right, the developers didn't really trust the player to really take part in creating the fun, or, I guess, playing. What I mean is that, even though the game is open-world, there's very little room for any kind of creative approach to play. In pretty much every encounter or mission, you will tackle it the developer's way or you can take a hike. One small example of this is how the game deals with climbing. In some games (*cough* Zelda *cough*) you can shimmy up just about any surface provided you have the stamina. Others, like Assassin's Creed, are a little less free, but still allow you to make use of visible handholds to mount climb things that should logically be climbable. Other open world games are still more restrictive, only allowing you to climb certain kinds of surfaces or make use of certain kinds of repeating handholds (think Far Cry 4), while others let you climb anything with a reasonably shallow grade (Fallout/Elder Scrolls). In Horizon, Aloy can't get up a ledge any higher than her hip unless the developer has marked it with yellow paint or rope. There is almost invariably only a single way to climb up any vertical landmass or feature as well, which means that exploration boils down to walk to feature, circle looking for yellow-marked pegs or rope, then spend about a minute holding the stick pressed up. There's no skill and no imagination involved. They might as well have made climbing a quick cutscene like they made rappelling and ziplining. The one area where you, as the player, do have some control and creative freedom is in creature encounters. The enemies are varied and initially challenging to figure out. Their designs are also pretty amazing visually and creative in terms of function. That said, once you've fought a particular enemy a few times, you're not going to see anything new from them. In fact, once you've fought the first enemy, you've pretty much seen it all in terms of enemy a.i. All machines pretty much behave the same way. They spot you and then proceed to launch ranged attacks until they can close, then they'll screech and try to tackle you. Rinse and repeat. There are no enemies that wait under the water to drag you to your doom as a crocodile might or pick you up and drop you like an eagle. None exhibit pack behavior and try to swarm you with coordinated attacks. Also, everything from antelope robots to giant carnevores are equally thirsty to chase you down and kill you. It would have been nice to see a variety of enemy strategies based on their body type. Finally, and this might seem like a minor complaint to some, but I found the bow combat to be singularly unsatisfying. There's a nice variety of bows, each of which has its own ammo types, which was a nice touch. You can also tweak their stats via mods, which is also nice. Unfortunately, whether it's firing ab ice or an explosive arrow, every bow behaves essentially the same. There is no arrow-drop/arc whatsoever, much less windage, so you have no need to really aim your shots. Just put the crosshairs where you want the arrow to go and squeeze the trigger. It's more like firing a slow-reloading sniper rifle (though even these have bullet drop in most modern games) than aiming. In short, it has the least satisfying bow combat in any game I've played. Seriously, Far Cry 4, a game which is primarily a shooter and came out towards the beginning of the generation, completely spanks Horizon in the arena of making its bows feel like bows while also being fun to use. The upshot is that, despite the creative setting and wonderful visual design that defines its open world, Horizon: Zero Dawn plays very much like your average linear third person shooter, right down to the glowing "you can climb here" single paths to any objective.

Best game in a long time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great single player game. Now days main game story lines are nearly absent as everything is requiring online play and multiplayer. This really brings gaming to an ultimate level
