So I didn't follow the release of this game and was not aware that it was being released. I saw it for the first time while in Best Buy looking for an SD card. When I saw the graphics I was blown away, probably the best graphical game on the PS4 to date, even better than Uncharted 4 and that is saying something because Uncharted 4 is beautiful. The story is amazing, the gameplay is great. Aloy should win for character of the year, the voice acting is a classic. This game is on par with the Witcher 3 (better graphics IMO ) and that is saying something to even be able to make that statement. If you like RPGs, this game MUST be in your collection. I have been an RPG fan from Zelda and Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross and I have played every FF from I to current...... this game must be in your collection. GET IT.

Early reviews were all positive on this, which prompted my Day 1 purchase, but it has exceeded my expectations. Feels like they took the bow combat from Tomb Raider and turned it up a few notches (this is a very good thing). Combat is engaging and varied with just enough difficulty to make taking down a herd of stalkers or a thunderjaw feel like a big accomplishment. Each machine has unique attacks and weakpoints, and learning the habits of each is fun, especially when taking on a pack of different types of machines. I was most impressed, however, with the story told here. The premise was very interesting, but it surprised me with the turn it took a little over halfway through the story and only continued to get better. I'm looking forward to the next installment, as it seems that Guerrilla has a new franchise on their hands.

By now I don't think anyone needs to be told how awesome this game is, just check the online reviews or check with anyone that's played it. I'm loving the storyline here, the attention to detail from the developers, the strong female lead eclipsing Lara Croft and the quest progression as the world opens up and the past fills in. Robot dinosaurs? Heck yeah! Never mind the fact that seeing Aloy's world in 4K with HDR on a PS4 Pro is gorgeous and can be absolutely breathtaking at times - thank goodness for the photo mode they've included. It hasn't been since I played the first 'Uncharted' game back in the day that I felt the need to write to a game studio and heap praise on them, but did exactly that to Guerilla Games for HZD. If you have ANY interest in a game of this nature, do yourself a favor and pick this up. NOW.

This game was, in my opinion, one of the best games ever crafted. It was so fresh and fun, the creatures within were original and artfully created while also being challenging and deadly. (First game I ever played through twice and bought all DLCs for and got 100% completion) The story...... phew. The Story was simply amazing and mind blowing good. The more you read the the little bits of info found around the world, the more you understand how it got to that point and where humanity went wrong. It immerses you in each character's lives, thoughts and feelings and ultimately begs the question "what would I do if I were in that situation?" The scariest part is that with our history as a species, it's a future that may happen for us. No Joke.

It is a fun open world game with a lot of action and plenty to do.

Horizon is a departure for Killzone developer Guerilla. It's an open world game with crafting, hunting, and stealth mechanics. You play as Alloy, an outcast in a tribal society, and you hunt robot dinosaur creatures using a mix of slings, bows, spears, and traps. The game is beautiful and one of the most gorgeous games to ever grace a console. It's easy to see Guerilla's talent behind the art design. It's almost a shame it's been wasted on the Killzone franchise until now. Combat at its most basic doesn't engage the player much, but once you start unlocking more tools and upgrading your abilities, combat becomes frantic and you have to think quickly. Executing a carefully planned out encounter is so satisfying, and it's chaotic and fun when things go wrong too. I can't wait to see what Guerilla does next!

This is a very clever take on hack and slash, sandbox, rpg games. I had absolutely no interest in this game when I first saw trailers and got into it only after watching some gameplay on youtube. Was able to get a costco price match and saved about $10 which was an added bonus. The game itself is very good with great gameplay progression and storyline.

I really enjoyed playing this game, great combat and open world.

I had no expectations at all for this game. First open world - the developers of Killzone (which I didn't like at all) - how could this be good? Anyways, I bought it because of all the good reviews and I don't regret a second. The only thing that could have been done better is the facial animations and voice acting. Not a big deal for me, but I understand that some of you guys are complaining about that. Could also have been added much more side-quests, there is few of them. Main story (+ some side) is 30 hour-ish, I completed the game 100% (platinum) in 40 hours. There could have been added a lot more to this huge world. I didn't feel attached to any of the characters tbh. The first few hours is perfect, but something is lacking after that.

This is a great game...awesome graphics, game play and story. There is an abundance of side missions that fit well into the game. Nice to see such an awesome rpg that steps away from the first person shooter style. Highly recommend.

I had been eye-ing this game since original E3 reveal a couple years ago but had reservations. Whenever a game gets too hyped up it always seems to fall short of the communities expectations. I decided to pick it up launch day and I have not been disappointed. The game is Amazingly done, the guys at guerrilla and sony really took their time and got this right. Only a few super minor complaints if I absolutely had to regarding small little game play quirks, but nothing to sway me from giving this 5/5 stars or a 9.8-9.9/10. The world is expansive and has so much depth, so many different styles you can play, the story does an excellent job at grabbing you in. I've seen many comparisons to the witcher, and I would say to an extent they're appropriate. I cannot recumbent a game out right now more than this one!

This game is the result of an ambitious effort. It has added polish and enhancements to tried and true gaming mechanics and has wrapped everything up in a stellar graphical display (It looks beautiful on PS4 Pro upscaled to 4K with HDR). The story moves forward with movie like presentation and impactful characters. Easy recommendation: 10 out of 10.

I was skeptical at first, especially only being able to play as a female (not being sexist..) but this game blew me away. It has a very unique skill system and a great/fun open world environment. I played it for 10 minutes just to give it a try and install it, ended up playing 5 hours haha, can't wait to go grind some more tonight when im off work.

Love the story and the gameplay. It is a very fun game to play.

Great action and story, some of the best graphics of this generation, completely immersive single player experience. Along with Zelda BOTW I would consider this an early favorite for game of the year and even of this generation.
