    Chromebooks have come along way!

I will start by saying that Chromebook laptops have come a long way since the very first time I tried one about 2 years ago. Two years ago, I heard about Chromebook laptops and decided to give one a try because of the price, but immediately returned it because it just felt cheap, it was slow, and it was basically unusable without internet. That said, I am glad I decided to give this 2-in-1 HP touchscreen Chromebook laptop a chance because after using this daily for about 2 weeks, my opinions on Chromebooks laptops have changed for the better. I will share some of my favorite features as well as a couple of things I wish were better. Speedy Processor 4/5 I am not a computer tech, so understanding processors or keeping up with the newest processor is just something I don’t get, but I give this processor 4 stars because it can handle multitasking well. It did the job watching videos, browsing, and even some light gaming like Fall Guys/Marvel vs Capcom 3. I tried playing some more graphic heavy games like Mortal Kombat 10, and it basically froze on me. I do not intend to use this for gaming, but having the option for light gaming as advertised is welcomed. Intel UHD Graphics 5/5 Again, I don’t really understand what the Intel UHD Graphics means as far as performance, but I downloaded the Beta version of Steam on ChromeOS, and I saw my full library in there. I was unable to download some games because they only ran on Windows, but most of them I was able to download and try out. Don’t expect to push heavy graphic games since it’s technically not a graphics card to my understanding. Light gaming on a Chromebook though, super cool feature for me! If it can handle light gaming, it will handle any work-related tasks without issues as longest you are not a video producer. 8GB of RAM 4/5 The last Chromebook I tried had 2GB of RAM so you can imagine my previous experience. This one comes with 8GB, so it can be pushed more, and you can have multiple things open at once which is convenient and helps me forget this is a Chromebook laptop. Battery 5/5 Surprisingly, the battery surpassed my expectations. I didn’t think it would last more than 2 hours, but it lasted 8 hours doing multiple tasks including a quick gaming session. It also charges fast which I like. 14-Inch Size and 1080p Full HD Display 5/5 Finally, probably my favorite part. The 14-inch Full HD display and the versatility to basically use this as a tablet with its own built-in stand. Watching videos while cooking has gotten better or simply watching movies on the go. Yes, the screen is not 2k or 4k, but 1080 is the high definition enough and the 14in size is a good size in my opinion. Colors look good. The only thing that takes a bit getting used to is the touch screen. It does not behave like a tablet, but I can live with it. Now the two things I wish were better. The keyboard. Just feels cheap. It feels like that’s the first thing that is going to break if I keep using this as my daily. Further, if I keep using this as a tablet, it will take some damage because it is exposed. Wish it felt more prime. The trackpad is also not the best, but personally I find this to be the case with most Windows laptops. They are not precise and when I am typing sometimes it detects my palm. Overall, though, I am happy with my Chromebook. If you need something for your typical work tasks, but welcome other nice things like some light gaming and the versatility to use this as a tablet from time to time, this could be perfect for you!

    Great Chromebook

I've been using this Chromebook for a couple weeks. I've been using windows laptops for about 30 years and getting used to a Chromebook didn't take as much work as I thought. I can see for some of my work it would take more practice to get as productive but most I wouldn't even notice a difference. For school or fun it is a good productive laptop. The physical laptop itself is very nice. It feels solid and the hinges open and close smoothly all the way from closed to tablet mode. The touchscreen is exactly what you'd expect from any electronic you're using these days. The screen is bright, colorful and plenty high resolution. If you're gauging battery life, the built in time estimator actually seems to be a little on the conservative side. I was easily able to stream 5 hrs of movies on a charge and just regular work the battery will easily last through a day. The keyboard is responsive and the sound is very good. It also comes with a number of programmable keyboard shortcuts if you care to learn those, they could be very productive. I didn't try running any games on this machine but I don't think that's it's market anyway. For entertainment and productivity it is plenty fast and should be for a while. This seems to be well laid out and built and Google is always very good about improving things over time so hopefully it only gets better. Overall I was very impressed with this Chromebook and would recommend it to anyone in the market for one.

    WORST BUY

If I could leave zero stars I would. WORST BUY I ever made WORST customer service as well. I'm so disappointed. Warning to anyone thinking of making a purchase PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM BEST BUY. You will regret it and wish you had not. I've been disrespected, lied to, disconnected multiple times after waiting on hold for sometimes an hour, they do not allow you to speak to a supervisor, are rude, and if you think that there is anyone to get a hold to make a complaint to. Nope I purchased a laptop for my granddaughter for Christmas with the guarantee she would get it by Christmas. Well I ended up with a very sad little girl had to spend the money again to get her one as I am still waiting for my money back. Worst Buy really put a damper on my holiday they caused unwanted stress, frustration, time , money, and gas. Please don't go thru what I have because there are still plenty of places to make a purchase that will treat you with respect and provide a decent customer service experience. BEST BUY is NOT what it used to be. So sad.

If you're looking for a multitasking machine on the go, HP’s Chromebook Plus is one option that really packs a punch. Boasting impressive performance with the latest ChromeOS ready to go, this feature-rich laptop is a perfect bridge between your work life and your entertainment hub. What stands out immediately with the Chromebook Plus is its solid, compact build that feels ready to take with you wherever you need it to go. It isn’t light in weight, but it doesn’t feel heavy; the laptop has some grip-friendly textures and a rugged base that feels like it could withstand some “off the beaten path” usage. Its simplicity is showcased in its design, with only a headphone jack sitting between a USB-A port and a USB-C port on one side, with the power button, volume +/- buttons, and charging port lining the other. I appreciate the no-nonsense build as its focus is on what’s inside. Opening the clam-shell casing presents you with a beautiful 14” LED display, a bright, multi-touch enabled touchscreen that fully folds back into a tablet-style device. This display is edge-to-edge glass that gives that immersive experience despite its smaller size. While the visuals look great, the sound can be a bit better. Listening to music on the external speaker won’t bring the party to you, though listening via Bluetooth or with wired headphones present a better quality of sound. The keys are softer than I prefer, but they are light, quiet, and spaced economically. The top row has all the usual buttons for settings and customizations, though I found the inclusion of more volume keys to be redundant given the presence of the side buttons. No matter the application you are using, be it Chrome browser, Google Docs, or a gaming app, the transition from laptop mode to tablet mode is quite seamless. In tablet mode, the keys deactivate and the onscreen keyboard is very large, especially in landscape mode. For this, I really like the option to collapse the keys into a mini keyboard, allowing for a very convenient swipe-to-text ability that I feel has come a long way over the years. Finally, I found this laptop was able to handle everything I threw at it: casual web browsing, email and messaging, movies and music, spreadsheets and document organization, online gaming and the occasional digital art app. HP's Chromebook Plus did it all at the same time and without any hiccups or crashes. Based on my experience, I'm confident this device will hold up over the long haul. The HP Chromebook Plus provides a truly mobile experience, allowing you to stay on the go and untethered with over ten hours of battery life and fast-charging capabilities, built-in Google apps, and enough storage for your work or play needs as well as offline access to your Google Drive. This laptop is perfect for the active user who wants a no-frills device that still delivers on the details for an appealing user experience.
