We bought the Chromebook for my son to use for his school work.....3 1/2 months later the screen would go all white after it was powered on for a while. Took it to Best Buy, they said they could not do anything to it, they said call HP. So we called HP, they had me go through several tests over the phone to try and clear the problem to no avail. We sent it in for repair since it was still covered under warranty.....HP just called and said the screen has a small crack in the bottom left corner of the screen (there is absolutely no signs of damage anywhere on the Chromebook) and this must have been an accident so it is not covered under the manufacture warranty. The customer relations manager who called me could not answer any questions I had about the possible reasons to the crack in the screen since he was not the Tech who looked at, I asked to speak to a Tech, but he said they do not speak to the customers. So you can't get any clear answers as to why they determined it was an accident and not a manufacture issue. He then told me they could repair it for $313.89, which is funny since we bought it for a little over $200.......but wait, now I get a discount of $120, which is still funny since I could go buy a new one for almost that same amount. I have bought a lot of HP product over the years and been happy with all of it, but not too excited on how they handled this Chromebook!

This is my first Chromebook ever, and I am very impressed with it and ChromeOS. It is very fast and rarely lags. I use this mainly for school uses and it does all that I need. It is web based only, but it is very functional.

So much faster than a lap top and no virus to worry about. No hassle surfing.

I guess I expected a company like Google to back a product that would be sustainable. Having 2GB of RAM with all of the things we do with technology today is so 2002. I got this one just to try out the product, and I can't say I am totally disappointed. I would like to see the Google Play store available soon and work on the nuisances, such as keyboard shortcuts or even the way the track pad operates. I'm hopeful that their focus groups actually address those things which aid productivity.

As expected easy to use and my son loved it. I will recommend for my friend

This product is good for middle school students because most schools already use Chromebooks. That's why this product is good fo students because the product does not get bugs or virus because it has its own protection service.

The Google platform is powerful and easy to use, I'm loving my Chromebook. If I don't have wifi, which is very rare, I just tether to my phone.

The Chromebook has been decent. There are times where response time when typing was lagging. Also it was unable to play live video from MLB.tv which is disappointing. Overall it gets the basic items done such as checking email and surfing the internet. I also used it to take notes during class using Google docs. Overall a decent laptop that will allow you to do the basics.

great laptop for school but if you are going to do anything else you are better off buying a $600 PC because on the Chromebook you can only surf the web and put your photos on it and you can only get apps from the chrome web store, all the apps are internet based on the Chromebook

I had never considered a chrome book. Before reading the reviews and actually testing one in the store, I had assumed they were somewhat of a gimmick. I was wrong. This machine does everything I need it to for work: documents, spreadsheets, email, Internet access. Compact lightweight design, super fast, automatically backs up to my google account.

Seems to be a great cpu for its purpose. Not a lot of memory but for what it is... good.

First of all, if you want to search the web with this computer, you can-- almost too easily. I absolutely HATE the stupid button that goes to google automatically. Terrible idea. Messes me up when I'm typing and want to do caps lock. Oh yeah! Guess what that idiotic button replaced??? The freaking caps lock button. Do not buy this computer. Seriously, just buy a mac. I regret this purchase. The only thing this laptop is good for is being a lazy bum. Fun fact about this review-- I tried to put it on the HP website, and they would not approve it!

I got this to replace my Toshiba that went out and this was such a mistake. I can't download anything to it because nothing is compatible with Chrome os and the apps in the chrome store doesn't even compare to the actual apps. worst decision ever

This laptop is user-friendly. It has worked well for me. Just do not spill liquids on the keyboard!!! I lost two of these that way. It says something, however, that I always replaced it with another of the same product.

Works well. No issues. Easy to set up. Should have paid $20 more to get the Toshiba with the back lite keyboard and the better screen definition.

I purchased this for my 14 year old for her birthday. I ordered it in another state and she was able to pick it up and was so surprised. She really loves it.

Initially I was very excited for this computer, but as time has went on I realized this probably is not the best fit. I am a student and I have realized this is not a practical computer for me. Storage capacity is alright.

Best Laptop! Better than a tablet by far! Great for everything, except downloading unless u have additonal flash.

Its so affordable and the system and everything is nice.
