Don't risk it
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product did not meet expectations. One review stated it has an IPS panel. It does not. It has an SVA panel, which in HP speak means standard viewing angle. Likely a cheap TN panel. It does not have a touchscreen, but knew that before buying, that is specified, whereas the panel is not. You can work a chromebook without a touch screen by using two fingers to pinch and scroll on the touchpad, but it's not ideal. This particular unit would not load the Google Play store ... tried in both stable and beta mode, wasn't going to try in developer. So no way to get apps besides attempting to sideload, which is way too much hassle. The CS from HP and Geek Squad was unable to resolve the problem ... there wasn't any seeming way to address it, so likely a hardware limitation. It's got a plastic construction that is functional, but doesn't scream anything except cheap budget computer. Additionally, was unable to return it curbside to the local Best Buy, am going to have to ship it back. Basically an unpleasant experience all around, mainly due to the time sink of trying to make a defective product work and the roundabout way of returning it. Now ... Best Buy does let one ship back a return with a free prepaid shipping label. Maybe a defective unit? No way to know, not willing to try again. The Play Store is supposed to work on all chromebooks issued past 2019, and this is a 2020 model, so baffling.

Avoid - Bad WIFI
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wifi immediately out of the box would only stay connected for 5-10 minutes. Absolutely infuriating. I have probably a dozen devices on my network connected so it's this Chromebook. Since it's a Chromebook, drivers do not exist so there's no way of remedying it, so I returned the item. It's a shame since the build quality is above average and the screen/speakers aren't too shabby.

Meh
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use, but I swear I just breathed on it and the screen cracked. A little disappointed in its non-durability.

Chromebook
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the slim design and the silver color, But performance wise it's lacking. Sometimes it freezes that was the big problem for me.

Incompatible with college
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I should have done more research before purchasing this device. It was not compatible with my college institution’s online learning platform (Canvas), the Respondus proctored exam platform, or my Canon printer. I’m not sure who the Chromebook is targeted for or for what purpose, but it definitely wasn’t for this college student.

No Touch Screen
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I didn't think that a Chromebook without a touch screen was a thing. I didn't even bother to check. What's the point?

Could have been good.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The touch pad on this machine is the deal breaker for me it does not respond like it should. You have to double tap then it will zoom in and not move. I use google maps so this is not good for that. It could have been a great affordable Chromebook but does not do what should.

Disconnects constantly
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've had this computer for homeschooling my 7 year old and it keeps disconnecting from the internet. It is not our internet connection as all our other computers stay connected. I've tried to update all the software and still no improvement.

Something wrong with this model
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There's something wrong with this model. I bought one and the screen kept randomly blacking out. I tried turning off all sleep modes, disconnecting peripherals and all the other solutions I saw on the web before returning it for a second one. The second one started doing the same thing. I returned that one and bought an ASUS that's working great. It's too bad because my last HP chromebook was a workhorse with no issues.

Mislead parent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I was online making the purchase I specifically choose this item because it was touchscreen and chrome book for my 11 year old. I figured it was PERFECT for school with zoom going on. Then I find out a few days ago that there is no touchscreen only because I was helping my child do a school project and while researching I asked why she just doesn’t scroll from the screen and she tells me that she can not do that on her laptop. I WAS FURIOUS!!! Just to say the least.

So Disappointed!!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so excited to buy this Chromebook but after just two weeks, it stopped connecting to wi-fi. I had an 11.6" Chromebook before (Acer) that worked great but I wanted to get a 14" this time. The picture and sound were good and it was a little bit slower powering on, but a decent laptop, until now. I thought I had thoroughly done my research but now I find this is a common problem with HP 14" Chromebooks. Now, I see BestBuy is now selling it on clearance.

Great until bottom started flexing.
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great until bottom started flexing. Through normal use the bottom now flexes and the touchpad interprets this as a "click", so random things get clicked when trying to type.

Not good for Remove School. Loses Connection.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for my child to use for virtual school. It cannot keep a connection for any web conferencing services (Google Meet, Zoom, etc.) It happens as frequently as every 15 minutes. Other devices in the same room don’t have any issues maintaining connection to the Wifi (including another older Chromebook) so it’s not the WiFi in the house. Unfortunately this Chromebook fails at the most important task, staying connected during remote school.

New computer, locked to previous owner. Not happy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The computer would be great if it had been listed accurately as a previously owned. Or at least had been restored to factory setting so that I can actually use the computer as the owner and not a guest. My advice would be to double check the computer's resold to make sure they are restored to factory settings before selling them.
