This HP laptop was a great upgrade for my personal home use! It was super easy to set up following directions on screen upon start up. I was able to use my cloud account to transfer files/data from my old laptop to my new one in a quick process. It came with a charging cord and has multiple USB outlets as well as HDMI. It came with a free Microsoft trial program which was also easy to connect to. The keyboard is quiet and the mouse isn’t overall sensitive. WiFi connection works great and the speed is satisfactory for my needs. I have used a few of the Microsoft programs and found all of them fairly simple to use. The picture is really clear and colors are very vivid. I’m pleased with it is lightweight making it easy to take with me while traveling. I like that it has the fingerprint id to prevent anyone else from getting access to my data. I have found the memory space to also be satisfactory for my needs as thus far. Overall I’m delighted with this HP laptop and the ease of getting it up and running on day 1!

After switching out of S Mode, apps I slapped on here include Office 365, Chrome, iTunes, Photoshop CS6, Sony Vegas, Retroarch, Virtualbox, and DOSbox, and still had some room to add roms and songs. While it may not be a powerhouse, it manages daily tasks well, flaunting simplicity with the classy flair. One of the standout features of this comp is its amazing glossy screen. Glossy screens are known for their vibrant colors and high contrast. They are particularly well-suited for multimedia tasks such as watching movies, editing photos, and gaming. The glossy finish can make images appear more vivid and lifelike, providing a truly immersive viewing experience. Even though it is only a 1366x768 resolution, the graphics look great. I wanted to run this laptop through its paces before I sat down to review it. I even let my mom test it out for a couple days. That said, this laptop “may” be good for senior citizens for some general web browsing but I would not wish this unit on students though. 4gb of RAM on a Windows PC is crawling. Using this laptop with this configuration really limits you to Chromebook functionality, and aside from web browsing and Word processing, your utility will be very limited. The display on this laptop is dull and very difficult to read. This is not a Chromebook and therefore should not act like a Chromebook. This is a Windows PC and you should be able to expect higher productivity. The build quality is flimsy and just a step above cardboard. The keyboard flexes when you type on it, the mouse pad is mechanical, and you feel it through every interaction. I would say that the price is its saving grace, but you can get a very functional and capable Chromebook that can do more than this Windows PC can.

The worst laptop and I can’t even return it. I wasted money on this laptop and now have to you buy another one

The laptop works great however, the packaging was unsatisfactory. The laptop was delivered with a shipping label on the HP box and placed on my porch displaying the contents.There was no protective covering on the HP box to cover contents.

It keeps coming on and shutting off. I’ve tried to call someone and am still waiting on a return call.

The hp 14" Laptop is a lightweight Chromebook it works fast along as very well. The price is reasonable and good for this device. The size of this laptop is very portable. the battery hold very well, the screen doesn't lag. if you have a young kid who is doing home school or school games i recommend it

For the price it is worth it. I bought this computer because of the on going issues I had with my Apple Macbook Air. I needed a computer fast as my graduate program is online. This laptop gets the job done. However, this computer works best for basic functions such as: typing documents, sending emails, browsing the web, etc. It is an adjustment switching from and Apple Device to a Windows.

The laptop glitches and I am not able to retrieve my work from it

I only had for 2 weeks and it stopped working i returned it

This laptop serves its purpose. It's not a high-powered unit, but works fine. It was purchased so my granddaughter could do her computer homework. When I first set up the system, I made the error of pairing it with my Microsoft account. A ton of information and files downloaded and it really bogged down the system. I had to reset and start over. Once I did that, the laptop worked fine.

To whomever is viewing this review, PLEASE do not get scared about the individuals saying this laptop is a slow, undesirable device. Simply, most of them have not or do not know how to rid the device of the pre-loaded bloatware which comes with it (standard practice for Windows machines). I am a guy who came from a $1400 M2 MacBook air which I thought for the money was just ok and opted for this device instead. Let me TELL YOU, once you open the box, turn the power on and allow the pc to download all necessary updates (took me about 2 hours for me to just sit and wait painfully).. This device is then ready to be utilized in FULL Windows 11 mode (not 'S' mode which is by default for this machine), de-bloated and de-animated (maximum performance) before full functionality that most of these reviewers are not receiving simply because they have not taken the time or do not know how to perform these steps. First to get out of the Windows 'S' mode, I recommend looking to the internet. Once out of 'S' mode, turn to the web browser (default Edge) and search for 'CC Cleaner'. This free program once installed on the machine will allow you to rid of all the bloatware programs (common Windows practice) that were installed on the device. Once the programs are all ridded of the bloatware, turn to the internet and see all the advanced Windows settings in regards to turning off unnecessary animations, game mode (not needed especially for this machine) and adjustments to the minimum processor speed for both battery and plug in. Once you turn off/tweak these critical settings, the device PERFORMS. In conclusion, this HP 14" is a wonderfully designed, steal of a product once ridded of all the unnecessary junk and tweaked to a stress free experience.

This laptop is fine overall, it's just too slow for my liking. I was reading the questions about people upgrading the RAM themselves and you can. HP are the ones that say you can't and I just got done upgrading the ram from 4gb to 8gb. HP doesn't want you opening your laptop.
