The notebook is a very good option for the price. Run very well, it has an acceptable performance rendering online streaming videos. Keybord is not the best, keys positions and sizes are uncomfortable for me.

    Perfect for a College Student

Needed a solid laptop for my upcoming semester since I was using a notebook. Comparably speaking, any laptop was better than my netbook. This laptop is perfect for the price. It's fast, compact, and gets the job done (i.e. taking notes, multiple browser tabs, playing music, and the occasional pc game). At 500 GB and 4GB ram that's plenty of memory and processing for any person who isn't a music producer or film editor. Great laptop and even better price!

Am a mac person, needed to pick up an inexpensive windows laptop to stay connected with work. Did my homework regarding ram, hard drive size, and processor. This HP lead the pack. It’s fast, fairly light, boots up quickly, doesn’t come with all the bell and whistles, but for me it gets the job done in a nice attractive package.

    Great Budget Laptop

I bought this laptop for basic needs; Netflix, E-Mail, Facebook etc... This laptop is perfect for that. I think HP tries to excel at all their products, and even this budget one shows the HP excellence. The speed on media playback is above average, the display is crisp as well as the sound. I will be buying a 2nd one of these for my son for X-Mas for him to use in school.

    Great Starter Laptop

I have owned several HP laptops, and reviewed this model thoroughly before purchasing it. It is a tremendous value that includes a DVD drive, which is rare these days, for $260. I was able to install a memory-intensive program, Visual Studio 2015 Community, and had no performance issues. I am not sure why some others gave this laptop such poor reviews. A great bargain for anyone, and the HP name is a great positive.

Slow no downgrade rights window 10 corrupts AMD

I was given this computer for Christmas and have had nothing but problems! -no option to have classic windows view -Slow windows 10 sucks the bandwidth and takes up a lot of space and uses up a lot of memory -windows 10 constantly updates but each time causes problems with your personal settings -Constantly requesting you type in a password even when you opt out for no password and never put in a password to begin with -only has 4 gbs of ram which its takes at least 1gb to run windows 10 which leaves you with 3 gbs of available ram to use. -has a ridiculous swipe screen like a phone or tablet has which is useless on a computer that's not touch screen! -Cant run Movie Maker because window 10 is corrupted -Can barely run games even though it is a 64 bits and technically comes with 4 gb of ram because you loose ram to windows 10 -No down grade options or down grade rights to windows 8.1, 8, or 7 because it did not come with W. 10 pro and even if it had HP has no drivers to support the downgrade. -I spent 1hr 35 mins on the phone with rude HP customer service members -I was told you can downgrade but it effects the warranty and the only way they would support you if you have problems is to pay $179.88 yearly divided into monthly payments. and even then they cant guarantee the pc would work. -From the representatives own mouths I was told HP is receiving many complaints about their computers which come with windows 10. -They offered no options that did not include ditching out more money and where not helpful despite how many unhappy customers have been complaining about their computers -Only options is to be charged $179.88 if drivers weren't available or for those computers with drivers available HP makes the customer buy their own licence to have a different windows installed even though in theory you already paid for a licence when you bought this computer -In the end HP made me sound as if I was ungrateful for this "gift" Since I was told by one person several times "it was a gift' -the last person I spoke with about the troubles windows 10 was causing on this HP laptop I was told "windows 10 is the latest model and you have no other options" -Then I was told " GET OVER IT".

This budget laptop has done everything I asked of it without 1 problem, after 10 days of heavy use during set up, I am pleased! Surfing, documents & spreadsheets, videos, e-mail & more seamlessly. I was upgrading from a 7 year old laptop with Windows Vista that worked OK, but this new Windows 10 has been very easy to set up & use so far.

I needed a laptop for a new job. I did not want to spend a lot of money and for as cheap as this was, the computer is great compared to initial expectations. I would give a 5 star rating if it was just a little better performance-wise versus it's competition. If a parent needs a cheap, quality option for a child, this product would be a score. I would definitely recommend.

i bought this laptop recently and it is really worth. it has a decent speed and storage. This is preferable for home use for movie watching and general browsing in internet. Battery life is low and no Bluetooth are some grey areas. but we can live with it.. screen resolution, keyboard, laptop design is good. i surely recommend this product.

I bought this for my daughter as a starter computer and it works great for that. Not a top notch gaming computer but that's good because I don't want her playing games on it anyways.

My very old laptop stopped working and I need a replacement laptop for basic usage. I purchased this laptop when it was on sale. Very happy with the purchase. Great for the price. It comes with Windows 10. I was a little bit concern about Windows operating system beyond Windows 7 pro due to negative comments on Windows 8, 8.1. I am pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to use Windows 10. Very intuitive.

I was looking for a cheap laptop for my grandparents and this was the cheapest i could find aside from chromebooks. It tends to be a little slow, with average battery life, however for its price it would certainly not bad. There is a num pad included on the keyboard which may or may not be comfortable for you. I personally was not used to having the keys shifted to the left to make room for that num pad.

Bought for med student with lots of files that need to be readily accessed so the 500GB storage is great! Thought part of laptop was missing but realized it's just really thin and light weight, easy to just grab and go any second, comfy for use anywhere. Keyboard is so smooth. Video quality is great. Running several powerpoint files, doc files, several tabs open, pictures and videos and computer doesn't slow up. Great laptop for awesome price

When i bought the laptop, it was said to come with windows 7 with a free upgrade option to windows 10. This was not my case. I would have loved to gotten windows 7, but instead it came with windows 10. It's speedy, although, and is decent for low end games and work.

This is the second HP computer I have purchased from Best Buy. I returned to an HP product because of its excellent performance and dependability. Previously I had an HP Compaq Presario with Windows XP. This computer has Windows 10 and works great !

I read lots of reviews and did not have a lot of money to spend on a laptop, but I needed one for college. Windows 10 and the features are awesome. Lap top came with a year free spyware, I had to purchase Microsoft and web is not slow. So far so good!
