Dont buy this. Wifi is not working after 3 months.no warraty even from hp

Had for one year went out and overheated. Not a good brand

This laptop has been very good to me. I still have and use it. Processing, storage and screen size is perfect. The laptop itself is a good size for carrying when needed. I would definitely purchase again or the modern equivalent.

PROS: price, light weight, good keyboard feel and layout SO-SO: speakers okay CONS: *lid & screen do not feel solid - the plastic frame around screen separates from lid back easily; *pretty slow startup - CPU at 50-100% for first few minutes; *the first time I used it, it was UNBEARABLY SLOW with Chrome & Firefox browser windows open with a few tabs each - I could not do anything without extensive delays such that I thought it was not taking my commands - I checked Task Manager, and although CPU, Memory & Disk regularly at 80%-100%. Then, when I went back to test it once more to write this review it performed better with just Firefox open before I opened Chrome - CPU & Memory still consistently 40%-60% and 80%+ respectively, but at least the Disk had dropped down to <10%. However, as soon as I opened Chrome & Gmail, Disk usage soared and lagging started again. SUMMARY: If I had not encountered the excessive slowness (it basically prevented me from working), I may have been willing to keep the computer for my husband who just does light internet browsing. But being unable to use Chrome and Firefox and Gmail and Google Calendar, I went ahead and bought a different computer. Bottom line, I think 4GB Memory is too little to handle Windows 10 and still work quickly.

This is a great large screen laptop with a full keyboard with number keypad. This has a DVD burner, which is going out of style, and it has an ethernet port, which some laptops ignore to save cost/space. The keyboard feels pretty good. The mouse buttons are a little stiffer than other laptops, but the trackpad is overall great. The screen is bright and large for older eyes. Complex webpages will slow this PC down, but the slowness tends to come from annoying ads, which can be blocked using popular plugins. For basic work, this Windows laptop runs great and is hard to beat for the price.

It is a good computer going on strong i brought it for a friend. She is very satisfied with the product.

This laptop frequently overheats and shuts down. I bought a fan for beneath it to cool it down and it still overheats, then I bought some air duster and that didn't work either. I found a website tonight with someone who opened it up and it doesn't have a proper cooling system so that is just a poor design. Wish I could return this computer but it was a gift so I just have to deal with an unreliable laptop. It really sucks because I do allot of work with it and am afraid I'm going to lose some important work, but I also have a family and can't afford to just go spend hundreds of dollars on a new, better computer. Please don't buy this laptop, I'm very unhappy with it. Fortunately, I think it's an older model, but still. Bad design.

This computer is, even with the price as low as it is, is simply not worth the money it costs. I have had mine for just over a month and the hard drive failed to the point that it isn't being recognized by the computer itself. Not that it mattered much anyway, it took this actual brick forever to load anything- Windows, a browser, Word, whatever, better get a cup of something to drink and take a break because it'll be at least 2-3 minutes at the fastest before what you wanted open will be usable and even then it is a guessing game as to whether it will actually function when it *FINALLY* opens. You are better off buying an actual brick...or ~$300 in random rocks- you'd get a better user experience. I'd see about returning mine but in a little over a month its already past the return window. Guess I have a new doorstop.

Excellent Product for the price. Would recommend to others

Out of the box, this laptop was slower than my broken laptop it was replacing. Very disappointed, pages won't even load. I had to change settings just to allow it to download Chrome, can not uninstall Edge. No more HP's for me, and I've been a loyal HP user for 15+ years

Stay away from this machine if you like using webcams. This webcam looks like its from the first generation of computers. It's not as fast as expected either. Unless you're using this for minimal tasks don't buy this laptop..

I bought this because of the storage size (1Tb), and CPU. But it was terribly slow in every aspect. The boot up takes (2min 45 sec). The shut off also takes longer than 45 seconds. The download speed of websites was slow while I was connected to a 5G network. The applications loaded slowly. It was not a pleasant laptop to use- not for work, not for recreational. Don't buy it.

Performance is so slow that I was not able to do anything meaningful on this computer. I have a decent knowledge of how to troubleshoot performance issues and used HP's help guide online but nothing made the computer work better. (It would take a full minute to do anything- whether on the internet or not.) I contacted HP but unfortunately had not done so until a year had passed (due to life being busy) and HP was not willing to help me (saying because I was outside their warranty) in any meaningful way. I have written letters to Director's, Vice Presidents and the Chief Operating Officer of HP and received no help. While on the phone with HP multiple times I asked for anyone who could help me but got no meaningful solution. I liked the HP brand up to this point but will never buy HP again because of their unwillingness to help me in any way. I spent over $250 on this computer only to gain $0 value from it. I bought this machine to replace a similar 6-year-old HP laptop. After setting it up and launching a streaming video site, I learned the hard way that you get what you pay for. Super sloooooooooow. Slower than the machine it was purchased to replace. Less than 24 hours later, I'm on my way back to the store to return it. You get what you pay for, I guess.
