Price not low enough for such low value.

"Surprise resize of screen" was one of the frequent annoying effects of not being able to turn off all the extra stuff touchpads think you might want but probably you actually don't intend. Online forums suggested a new driver or trying to roll back to a previous driver (not an option) but many concurred this problem couldn't be resolved so I returned it. I exchanged for a 14" HP laptop with a 7th generation i3 or i5 which worked fine but was a bit small and the keyboard wasn't responsive enough so I returned it. THIS COMPUTER: As I was attempting to exchange the 14" HP for the 15" version (which had formerly been out of stock) I found they had rolled out a new setup with a new processor which the employee said he "wasn't sure how comparable they were because comparing AMD to Intel is confusing" (basically). Also he didn't know how many cores it had, but hey look - a sticker says it's a quad core. NOPE. This is a falsely advertised dual core that hangs regularly on multi-tab Chrome use, glitches out green on the browser version of Netflix, and doesn't eject the DVD R/W with the button (gotta right click on the drive and choose "Eject"). After checking for a graphics card driver (which was out of date despite being a brand new product fresh to the shelves) I followed Netflix's suggestions and uninstalled the app (which I hadn't been using) but the browser version still didn't work properly so I installed the app and so far it seems to work. HOWEVER, while watching other videos parts of the screen intermittently turn green (with the old and new driver). This is all irritating considering the former HP laptop had none of these issues. So I got a slightly less expensive model "on sale" but it's got problems the other didn't have. Additionally the num lock key doesn't light up and the left click button is pretty stiff. Nitpicky stuff, whatever. SUMMARY: Falsely advertised processor (half the cores it claims to have) Glitchy graphics card despite new driver Can't handle basic multitasking on Chrome without freezing Malfunctioning DVD R/W button Superfluously stiff left click No visual num lock indicator Also the Bluetooth won't connect to my Sony 1000XM2 headphones but I'm not sure that issue is with this computer.

Horrible touchpad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've owned many laptops. I've always owned Windows, and lately I've been buying HP, because my printer is an HP and It's easier to link, and I've gotten very used to them. Within the first few seconds of scrolling with the touch pad in the browser, it would "accidently" zoom in and I would have to pinch zoom back out. Upon more use I realized it just kept doing it, and I couldn't scroll without zooming. After googling remedies, disabling "pinch zoom"' and an hour and a half with tech support, I decided to return it. When the associate asked if there was anything wrong, I briefly described the problem. She booted it up and experienced the same thing with confusion. She assured me it was just a fluke, and a bad touchpad. Keep in mind this is a "Geek Squad" tech. So I happily exchanged it. Long story short, the new one does the exact same thing. If you typically scroll with the "two finger swipe" method as I do, you may have issues. After disabling every multi finger pad function I'm able to use it, but it's very inconvenient, because I'm so used to the easy functionality of every other HP windows lap top I've owned. Unfortunately I'll have to return this one and get a different model or brand. Everything else seems to work fine.

Worst Computer Ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could have given this computer a zero, I would. I understand that I had downgraded from previous computer, HOWEVER, my issue lies in that after having it for one week, it completely died in that it was a motherboard issue. I was advised I was sold a lemon and to my dismay, I could not retrieve my data without having to pay for retrieiving my data (I am a graduate student in the mindst of writing papers and so you can sense my frustration). To be honest, it was slow and I could have dealt with that, but this is beyond belief that they could be putting products like this out there. I would not advise buying this.

Some issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Runs just fine. However, the touch pad tends to zoom in when you're trying to scroll. Also, I put my thumb drive into the USB port for the first time and it got stuck. Now I'm paying 40$ to possibly fix it.

I wouldn’t buy again
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It is slow to begin with. Now, about 2 months from purchasing, it is saying there is a hardware issue. When I click the link to possibly fix or identify the issue it says nothing is wrong. No way to fix or identify the issue. If it gets worse that’s $400 down the drain! Remember this is after 2 months of barely any use. I would return but it’s a 15 day return policy. Such crap!
