I returned this computer as soon as I opened it. The screen had pixel burn, and it didn’t support my 5ghz WiFi network. I went with a dell instead.

Once I exchanged them, it was great but a lot of time was spent on setting up a defective line of computers.

Really good specs for running apps and browsing

This is a quad core i5 8250U which is very nice for handling apps and web browsing. By applications I obviously don't mean ones like CAD programming and etc. Other review said this isn't Windows 10 friendly? I don't even know what that means. I've had no problems installing all my software... windows 10 is windows 10 a computer doesn't make the OS magically more compatible with software some people just don't know what they're doing or trying to use some windows XP stuff :) If you look at the processor in this laptop it's the same one in the ones marketed around $800-$900 at that point all you're really getting is design in portability and battery life yeah the screen upgrade to 1080p and a nicer color. Which is why I'm really confused by another review saying you can get similar specs for the same price. This laptop is literally perfect for family members who want to browse the internet and open up basic applications like outlook, word, Photoshop, Quicken, Tax software etc. The quad core and SSD drive make it a little future proof especially for the price. There is a reason this laptop is sold out again same hardware as the 800-900 dollar ones. Don't like 128GB drive? Spend $50 on a 1,000GB Passport. Think the mouse pad is too sensitive? Plug in a USB mouse or change settings in windows.

    Touch Psd is to sensitive

This could be a really outstanding laptop. Cons -- 1. The touch pad is ridiculous. I have it set for the lowest sensitivity and it still opens things as I scroll over them. It is taking me over long to get used to it. I'm really trying as I don't want to have to lug a mouse around all the time. 2, 128Gb hard drive - Really? Win10 and the bloatware installed uses 80GB. After clearing out the bloatware, I freed up 30Gb. But, two of my programs wiped that quickly. The sales guy was bragging up cloud storage. Sorry - but I go places where there is no internet and I'm stuck using a cell hotspot. I've been a couple of places where cell coverage is spotty at best. Luckily I have a 500Gb drive coming. I had hoped to drop a TB 2.5" drive in as a second. While the space and mounting area is in the machine, the connectors are not. The i5core chip is blazingly fast. The real reason I bought this thing for the price. And there is a slot for an extra memory strip if you want to upgrade. Once I have the 500Gb drive in place and get used to the touchpad, this laptop will work OK. The USB ports are version 3. My external drive will connect for quick access to data. I'd recommend this to my friends who are capable of doing their own upgrades inside the case.

review of HP model # 15-DA0002DX

bought this HP model # 15-DA0002DX during Best Buy's door buster deal last 12/20/2018 for 399.99 USD. after upgrade, now this laptop has 16GB Memory. The 128GB SSD that it came with is now what I use for OS only. Took out the optical drive and replaced it with 1 TB SSD to install other needed softwares. Removed bunch of bloatware, optimized the OS. Now the laptop boots amazingly fast and very responsive. for the price and performance after little upgrade, I gave it 4 stars. If it had 3.0 usb and better graphics, I'd give it 5 stars.

Purchased December 2018. HP laptop has served it's purpose and still does. I bought it for school December of 2018 and also use it for personal use. The only things I've added it an external TB HDD and a 17 inch monitor.

It's not a bad computer but definitely doesn't last long. Bought mine late Dec. 2018 and already need to replace it. It won't turn on anymore.
