Did everything and can't get the computer to boot up and it is due to the hard drive.

I did not have high expectations for a $300 laptop, but the display is pretty mediocre. Low resolution, bad angles. Would probably be better off used with an external display.

backlit flaw

Screen is horrible, laptop not worth the money

I knew it was too good to be true given the price but the screen is horrible. Bad colors and the worst viewing angle I've ever had even for a budget laptop; unless directly centered at eye level everything is washed out and black/shaded areas are unviewable - this is not useable for someone sitting at a table/desk. It's so bad I don't want to use even for basic day to day tasks like light YouTube viewing and email/word. Will probably give this one to my 5 year old to start having a "real computer" and buy something else.

Computer seemed to function okay, but it would never shut down, unless I use the actual power button. Have tried numerous things with HP support and they cannot make it work properly. It is basically junk and feels very cheap.

It just so happened to start over heating the day after I could have returned it. I still have a 10 year old laptop that works and this couldnt even last 2 months. I used to feel HP was a good product but not anymore.
