This was ok for a cheap 17" laptop. I just use it for basic web browsing and email. The problem is the plastic is weak near the display hinge area on the left and right sides. I think it broke there and now there is a big gap when you open and close the display screen. It is almost unusable now as I have to leave it open all the time. Recommend spending at least $800 for a more durable laptop.

A little flimsy. The corner of the laptop is coming apart and the the camera looks blurry. Do not recommend buying if you need something durable.

For me, this computer fits my needs. Although it doesn’t have a SSD, or touch screen, it does everything that I need. I edit photos, create spreadsheet and presentations, explore the web, shop, etc. It had enough hard disk space to cover all of my files from previous computers with room to spare. If you are looking for the basics that can get the job done, this is the computer for you.

This laptop is for my Grandson. He had researched for a while and decided this was the one he wanted. This laptop is used for emails and movies. He has another computer used for playing video games. Happy with this product.

When I purchase the laptop for my kids, I was not sure that they were going to enjoy it. I am unable to keep this off the computer. This purchase was an excellent purchase and I think the produce was well worth the money.

Only one thing I do not care for and that is the charging plug. It pulls out too easily and needs to be replaced because the design causes it to bend too much so that eventually, it starts to tear, exposing the wires.

This is a good computer for everyday use. If you are looking for heavy duty gaming computer, this might not work for you. Big pro for me is the CD/DVD drive. Cons-- the mousepad buttons are a little sluggish.

Long time HP laptop/desktop user. We loved our last HP laptop, which had the same specs as this one - 17" screen, TB hard drive, 8GB RAM. Overall the performance has been fine, this issue has been the quality of the enclosure of the laptop. After about 15 months of use, the hinge for the screen became harder and harder to use. At some point before 2 years, the screw attachment points (plastic) holding the top and the bottom together broke and every time the screen is opened, the top and bottom separate due the hinge being so stiff. I was able to fix this using a little creativity, so that we can keep using the laptop. Now the same thing is happening on the left side. This experience has pushed us away from HP. The case overall feels cheap. If this laptop is an example of the quality of HP devices, we will be looking to other manufacturers for our next purchase.

i saw this computer online at best buy's website during a 3 day pre black friday sale. i purchased it about 10 days ago and i am very happy with the product.

I absolutely love it because it's just what I needed. it only can connect to your 2G i believe its called which would have been nice to know but other than that, it's fine.

Got this laptop as a gift for my Mom for Xmas. She loves it, the design and material the laptop is made of keeps fingerprints off the laptop. She loves the size of the monitor, and the storage capacity.

I bought a 17" HP 6 years ago which by now needed some work, so I looked for a replacement. 8th gen i5 with 8GB RAM is much faster than my 2nd gen i5. I wish the housing would be a bit sturdier.

I needed a new computer for simple things such as checking emails, surfing the web, and doing small amounts of graphic design stuff. This computer fits my needs. Not the best, not the worst.

My husband's previous hp laptop was many, many years old. So, I gave him a new one for Christmas. He loves his gift. It is much lighter and with a larger screen. He couldn't be more pleased.

I am so glad I bought this laptop by spending a little extra money. I've gone through at least 4 laptops in over 7 years. They were not as good as this HP

This is a great laptop. I couldn't have asked for a better laptop and I insisted on an HP. I have always had good experience with HP products.

My dad ordered this with my advice and after several months it’s serving him well for the price, though he does mention it’s not very fast, but to be expected. Worth it if on sale.

I purchased this laptop as a replacement for another that crashed. I mainly use it for work. I like the size of the keyboard and the number pad on it.

I have hardly used my laptop yet, but I am looking forward to having it when I am away from my desktop. It is a nice size. Not too small but not large enough to be hard to handle.
