While there are a lot of Laptops that can get the basics done, and a lot of laptops (specifically chromebooks) that work for most people, this is a good laptop for those who need a well priced machine that works for basics and then some.

I took off where my old computer died. No ramp up time.

This is the 3rd HP laptop that I have purchased from Best Buy at Tyrone. I have never been disappointed ! My last laptop is still going strong. It has been "inherited" by my grandson. I know that he will get the same great use of it that I did. I purchased it in 2011. Way to go Best Buy and HP !

I did not realize how sluggish my 5 year old laptop had become. I took advantage of a recent sale and discount coupon and got a great deal on this HP 17" Laptop. Very well pleased with build, suits my everyday needs and was a significant upgrade to my AMD processor of 5 years ago,

Bought this for my wife. It is much quicker than her older laptop it is replacing. However, the move from Windows 7 (which we both much prefer) to Windows 10 has had some steep learning curves. This unit has a CD/DVD drive which makes it much easier to load her older programs.

This is a great laptop. It's my first one ever and I think I should have started with something smaller but it works for me. Maybe later on I'll keep this one at home for the kids and by myself a smaller one to travel with. The software is easy to use and I have not run into any trouble yet.

Pretty good beginner laptop for kids. Hard Drive lasted for about a year and then became faulty and eventually crashed. If you can, upgrade to an SSD as soon as you can and you’ll love it, and so will your kids. It’s a pretty fool proof and durable machine.

The computer is user friendly with many programs that are easy to understand and access. The only problem I’m having is connecting to my IPhone hotspot. Will take computer and phone to local Best Buy Geek squad for assistance.

I am thankful that I paid extra for the geek squad stuff.This new windows is nothing like what was on my computer that died. They also were able to get my old files off the old computer. I called them for help. I will be calling for more help in the near future.

Great computer for someone who needs an optical drive coupled with the ability to login for installing routers, managed switches, and generally doing managed services for clients. Except for the lack of an RS232 port it is ready for any IT or radio technician.

This PC isn't anything fancy, but if you are wanting a decent laptop, this will fill the job. Haven't had it very long, but don't have any complaints. It seems to work well even with games. Time will tell how it holds up.

It had all the options I needed for school and more. The only things I don't see as a plus are the weight and size. I have to buy a new laptop bag because none of my standard ones fit. Just make sure you really want one this size before committing. Overall, a great laptop.
