I recently purchased this laptop with the hopes of using it. But the Dedham Ma geek squad has attitude to put it mildly. Sales promised me one thing as far as data transfer was concern and I was specific in what I was expecting. From the word go Geek squad had nothing but attitude, I set the appointment up days in advance as to when I needed the laptop back. Waste of time, no only was the laptop not done in time but nothing was done as expected. Instead of making a scene at the store I took the machine home for two days and returned it. When asked why I explained and it was par for the course in that store. When management in the store called me they left my number as the call back number and laughed when I pointed that out.

Fairly responsive computer, but bad keyboard layout.

Laptop died before 6 months had passed. Had to build a pc finally to get out of the laptop loop. One year later the slow lap top sits on the floor unused as it barely functions for word/excel.

I purchased it New And it boot up much slower than my wife’s inexpensive acer laptop she owns for over 5 years and the power button very hard to use press it and release doesn’t turn on which I have never encountered with another computer returned it within bb 14 day policy

I can't control the pointer. It jumps all over and clicks on random things. I was told it would be slow but it is slower than my 7 year old computer that I replaced. It has randomly shut down on me. I have never had so many problems with a laptop. I have had about 5 now, this is a huge disappointment.

Just got this laptop a few weeks ago, and it lags way too much for a new computer. Pages sometimes take a long time to load even with strong Wi-Fi. Not impressed.

I was disappointed to find this laptop would not support or connect to my 5G WiFi network. I ended up returning it, and trading up to desktop computer that would.

I had the store remove the automatic apps on computer and had to remove the items myself after picking it up.

I thought it was a good deal when I saw it online at $499 and headed over to Best Buy to purchase it; then it went on sale for $479 while I was there LOL At $479 it's a steal. It's a nice box if you're seeking a traditional, old school "desktop replacement" laptop, as I was. It's got a big, colorful, well lit screen. The keyboard is comfortable and flex is not excessive. 8 gigs of RAM and a 1 T drive are not state of the art (I wish this was offered with a 256g ssd drive...oh well), but it's more than enough to run Windows 10 nice and snappily, although of course, with an old school hard drive, the start up time is pretty long compared to an ssd set-up. Honestly speaking, this is not a laptop you buy to impress your friends, it's a clunky black huge laptop, but it's actually very good for what it is: a laptop you can do work or schoolwork on or surf the web or watch videos or do email/Facebook/Twitter, etc. It's surprisingly light for a 17" laptop, coming in a full half pound less than the one it's replacing. I would recommend this unit. I expected to spend at least $600 to get a box with the specs I wanted and was surprised HP one so cheap.

Hard drive went out TWO DAYS after the warranty expired. For what we spent, it should have lasted more than a year. Very disappointed.

This is my 6th HP product, so I know what to expect and this one is a dud. J just use the internet, word and excel and these load incredibly slow, I almost feel like it has an old pentium chip in it.

I bought this same model for Christmas for my son and the hard disk failed some few days after I bought this one. The HP site lists only 3 authorized places for repairs, One is very far from my home, the second one is not open yet, and the third store told my that they do not have a contract yet for Puerto Rico. The only option is to sent the computer to the US for repairs. That will take to long and expensive

Laptops i’ve had in the past, with slower cpus performed way better, than this unit. But this is all i could afford

Very slow computer. Not worth the money. Might as well spend a little extra and get a faster one

It won’t hold a charge longer than half a day. Buy something else

Returned after 9 days kept getting dreaded blue screen

I have had this computer for 7 mos and in the last 2 months have had nothing but problems with it. Its basically rendered useless. Keep getting repairing disk errors message in an endless loop. Din’t waste your money on this computer. The worst computer Ive ever purchased and I’ve purchase several over the years.

I purchased an HP Laptop and transfer of all my information ($80) from the Laptop I currently had that would not come on. All the Files under Inbox were not transferred over. Meaning a lot of lost information. I would like a refund of the $80. Your Geek Squad usually preforms well on line---this was done in store

After using this computer for 1 year, it broke out of nowhere. We took good care of it, the system was slow in 5 months making me unable to do homework. Extremely disappointed.
