Having problems with this computer again. Had to have a hard drive put in less than one year. Now it is so low I have to wait on typing for it to catch up. Taking it back to Best Buy again.

An Amazing Machine - Highly Recommended

Hello fellow human beings - If you're seriously considering this laptop, I would highly recommend it! But first, let me tell you about the one and ONLY notable issue with it. This laptop comes with a built-in Intel RealSense 3D camera, and for whatever reason, it just does NOT want to cooperate with this laptop AT ALL. So if you have your heart set on being able to utilize that feature, I've got to steer you clear of this particular laptop then. Unfortunately, the issue with it's built-in camera is not just limited to me, or even just a few people, but it's in fact been a problem for many. It's easy enough to work around, and a lot of the time people like to use their own setup anyway. Other than this little flaw, it's an amazing machine. It has absolutely EVERYTHING you could possibly need, and I know that when I was searching for a laptop, one of my biggest priorities was longevity in it's relevancy, I wanted to make sure I acquired a laptop that would continue to function well into the next few years, and this machine certainly will, I have no doubts about that whatsoever. It was released somewhere in 2015 I believe, it's 2017 (very close to 2018 now), and it's still functioning on the high end of things, and I don't see that being an issue anytime soon. So, yes, I would recommend you go for it. Good luck and happy hunting!

It’s only a dual core. Don’t be fooled by the i7. Kinda cheap feel to it compared to the MacBook Pro.

I received my computer about a week ago and absolutely love it so far. It is exactly what i needed. It is fast, battery lasts over 6 hours (didn't expect this at all for such a large laptop). I love the 17", i work a lot with photos and the display is absolutely amazing. The only negative that I can think if is the weight but I did expect it. Oh, and the speakers....AMAZING!!!! Love it love it love it

It's what i wanted but for the blue screen error

This machine has all I wanted. Great screen, hard drive, speed, ports. But got a blue screen error "Driver Power State Failure" repeatedly. Machine captures some info while you watch blue screen then reboots and runs fine as long as I don't put it to sleep. After waking up, within 3, 4, or 5 minutes, another blue screen and ensuing reboot. Geek squad, Microsoft, HP couldn't figure it out. Best Buy Geek Manager proposed that I return it (60 some days after purchase) and get another machine because they don't want an unhappy customer and this particular laptop has some sort of a gremlin. Couldn't ask for better support. May even try another of the same model b/c i like it so much. If I do the same and have the same problem, then heck no, I wouldn't recommend to a friend.

    Complete Package

Better than its previous SKU model overall. I had purchased u109dx, it ended up incredibly slow with 3 dead pixels within its first several days. The touchpad was erratic and indefinite whereas this model provides firm grounded feedback on its tap and pointing. A little disappointed in the 2MB less video cache but I will take the ergonomy over a cache hit. Highly satisfied with my exchange given HP's subtle yet effective touch and finish to this SKU.

    Lots of issues

I ordered this laptop via mail, and when it arrived, I noticed it was shipped from the Buy Buy Returns Center in Shepherdsville, KY. This may also be a regional warehouse for Best Buy, but I admit it made me wary. The initial set up went smoothly, but as I set up my email accounts and installed another web browser, I noticed the the home screen said "ASUS" in the lower right hand corner. I'm not sure what's going on with that. Did I purchase an HP laptop as advertised, or did I purchase an ASUS laptop? As I started to load Microsoft Office, I noticed the laptop was much, much slower than my older and less powerful Dell. And then the screen began to flash and flicker. Restarts and reloads only made the issue worse. By now, there were too many red lights surfacing, so I recovered it to factory mode, repacked it, drove 50 miles to the nearest Best Buy store, and returned it for a refund. So was I shipped a laptop somebody else had returned, maybe for the same reasons I noted above? What was going on with the ASUS logo appearing? If I had wanted an ASUS computer, I would have purchased one. And with the very noticeable slow in performance and the unacceptable flickering of the screen, it was evident this box had a lot of bugs and wasn't a keeper. I'm very glad I returned the laptop for a full refund (quickly and efficiently, thank you, Best Buy) but now I'm hesitant to purchase another one quickly. I also noticed the laptop was much slower than my much older and less powerful Dell. Once the email accounts were set up,
