Innovative, zippy, and plenty for average consumer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm new to the Chromebook market, and this device has simply been a blast to use. Not a power user. Was mainly looking for supplement to MBP 2013 w/Retina for portability and basic productivity. This may just be my daily driver outside of my HP workstation. Was originally drawn to Pixelebook, but couldn't justify price given my use case for basic media consumption and productivity (3-4 browsers, youtube, chrome, netflix, amazon, google drive, ms office, pdf annotation). This HP X2 can do all of that pretty effortlessly as a laptop and tablet. Was drawn to its overall package of being a detachable tablet, stable laptop, and including a pen. Weight is noticeable, but not offensive. Wobble is present in lap and table use, but not so much that its distracting. Battery life is great so far and survives a day of intermittent use. Some considerations: 4gb ram wasn't a deterrent for me, but the 32gb storage limitation was an initial bummer knowing that Chrome OS hasn't fully worked out the ability to save android apps to memory card, but realistically I'm not downloading too many apps. Recently updated to Chrome OS 72, but others have noted that it took awhile for the HP X2 to get stable release. There's also not much in terms of accessories for HP X2 other than 2 cases I saw listed on amazon. I can overlook these cons given the overall value of this device. I love being able to use it as a laptop, then detach or flip it with screen flipped around to use as stand for drawing/notes/netflix. Highly recommend if you want an innovative Chromebook in the mid-range price (often on sale or can be bought open-box at best buy) that gives you the stability of a laptop and flexibility of tablet. Chrome OS in tablet form still has a lot of improving to do, but more than enough for an average consumer.

Excellent Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was considering getting a Google Pixel Slate but a couple of reviews I read online got me to looking at this Chromebook/Tablet and I'm glad I did. It's spec'd about the same as the 2nd tier Pixel Slate but half the cost when you add keyboard and pen. I'm loving this machine so far! It runs the standard Chromebook stuff and runs Android apps really well - very seamlessly I'd say. It didn't have the new Chrome OS tablet features out of the box so I checked the Chrome version and it said to reboot. Once I did, all the new tablet features were present and are very nice! I needed to watch a video to find out how to use everything, but now that I know, it works great. Android apps on Chrome OS make this device so much better than the older Chromebooks. It's an amazing laptop and tablet all in one. I'm not a big fan of the white color, and I can't find any glass screen protectors (plastic ones are available) are the only downsides so far. My Pixel C died on me after 2 years but I already like this machine better. Very happy with this purchase!

Impressive for a Chromebook.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, for a Chromebook this device is impressive. This device feels expensive and a bit heavy. Sound quality is exceptional. Back camera could be better. Overall I am a bit disappointed with Chrome OS and their android App integration. Apps like Google play music, YouTube, Google Books, and Movies. All of which are Google apps, do not have micro SD card support for downloaded content storage, that is available for true Android device. Hopefully this would be fixed in the next few Chrome OS updates.

Great Product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I also have a Google Pixelbook. This gives it a run for the money. For the price, this is the better of the 2. Not taking price into consideration, I would say it depends on what you use more, this is way better, lighter and thinner as a tablet without the keyboard than the Pixelbook folded into tablet mode, but the keyboard is kind of bulky so if you usually use it with the keyboard the Pixelbook is thinner and lighter than this with the keyboard attached.

update
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Apparently there's no way to edit these reviews, anyways... I'm loving it even more with a case. It's the Urban Factory surface case that works, at least that one. It has a pen holder, makes for a great experience! Carrying just the tablet and pen is awesome

Nice (though flawed) hardware let down by ChromeOS
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought one of these last night. I basically wanted a giant tablet to read comics on. I was very happy with the hardware (though I don't like that back is white, I was afraid to touch it). I returned it because I discovered that though you can install Android apps on Chrome OS, those apps can't access the SD card. This is a TERRIBLE decision by Google. Chromebooks don't have much internal storage (the X2 only has 32GB) and the apps can't access the card you would use to store your media on. As a comic reader, it became worthless. I returned it today. (There's rumors that the current beta version of Chrome OS makes the SD card accessible to Android apps, but it didn't work for me or for most other users, according to the comments.)

So close to being awesome, but failed.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replacing the non-bluetooth, dead-weight keyboard, a portable docking station with backup battery would be a necessary upgrade. Imagine the keyboard with charging and external monitor connectivity, then the 2 USB on the tablet is freed up for on-the-go attachments, such as an U2F key.

will not print to my HP printer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works fine if you don't want to print anything but when I set it up everything seemed to connect but when I try to print nothing happens. The printer acts like it sent the print but the printer just sets there like nothing is happening.
