    Too many problems!

I liked the idea of a 2-in-1 laptop, but this model is impractical. The tablet is heavier than the base, so it tips over when it's on my lap. The tablet itself is too heavy. The first unit I got wouldn't even let me log on. Geek squad tried to fix it, but it still didn't work. They exchanged it for another model. This model didn't want to come out of sleep mode. It also ran super slower. I returned it and bought a completely different brand.

    hardware fails after 1 year

Loved this laptop at first. I purchased it in August of 2014 and began experiencing problems (delay in keyboard functionality, charging issues, etc.) this past summer with the keyboard. By the time I took it back to best buy, it was past the 1-yr warranty. The geek squad did some tests and determined that the hardware (keyboard) was dead and informed me that they see a couple of these a week with the same problem. Cost to repair was about $100 cheaper than a new one. I noticed a ton of forums that said the same thing happened with their laptop. Bottom line, this HP model is a lemon. Very disappointed with HP.

I purchased this laptop for my daughter in June 2014, the keyboard is now shot. She can only use it through the touchscreen. She is a college student, it has seen only normal wear, and she was actually without it for over two months during that time; it lasted only 14+ months.

I was a bit concerned about windows 8 but it isn't so bad with the touch screen. The keyboard disengages when in tablet mode, so you won't need to worry about that.

    Great laptop

I love this laptop. I've read some of the reviews that state it's slow. It's the fastest computer I have in the house, even faster than my Macbook Air, which is three years old. The laptop was easy to set up. I removed the small amount of HP bloatware, installed my own antivirus and then downloaded the Microsoft updates. Easy peasy! I have a few minor complaints. Where's the full version of Microsoft Office? Even a full version of MS Home & Student would have been nice. I almost didn't buy the computer because of the lack of Office. This laptop is a tank....almost 5 pounds. It's heavy. The tablet part is too big to be held comfortable in the hands for a long period of time, but it's great for watching movies on Crackle, just leave it in the dock. It appears to be very well made, I just wish it was a little more portable. Maybe I'm a little too sensitive since I'm used to a Macbook Air that weighs half what it weighs.

I was looking for a hybrid laptop/tablet and thought this would work for me. With the bigger screen, it was a little bulky in tablet mode, but it was manageable. That is until it blue screened on me 5(!!) time in two day. Maybe mine had been a bad one, but I don't need to deal with those problem with a computer I didn't even make any changes to. It even crashed when I tried to do a reset to factory. Returned in two days later and go a Microsoft Surface. More expensive, but works.

Bought a few months ago and the ability to transform from a laptop to a tablet fooled me. Used it for 2 months struggling to turn it on sometimes and it finally shut down n me. Can't even get it to turn on again. What a waste. No warranty unfortunately. My advice is......Don't buy this.

No down side. Sharp graphics. Nice sound. Easy to use. Light. Fast. Quick start up, fastest I have ever owned. Lighter than, the Mac Air that I was considering, and a lot cheaper, with more capacity. I needed a lighter laptop, as my last was like carrying a cinder block. Love it.

    Dissappointed!

This is the biggest piece of junk I have ever purchased. Screen freezes and it will automatically switch to on screen keyboard if left on for any length of time. Now, the screen part makes a continuous noise like something is running in it then switches to a high pitch buzzing noise. Should have kept my Toshiba lap top!!

I bought this because I wanted a laptop/tablet combo for when I'm on the go, I thought it ran slow when I tried to open or do anything on it. My old laptop is runs faster than this. I was disappointed so I returned it the next day.

    Quality issues

I purchased this in June. As far as screen quality speed etc. a nice computer. However there are clearly design issues causing the top weight of the tablet to tip easily. Battery is also poor. I had to send to repair for what was called a lose connection which caused the screen to turn off and on intermittently. Now, the mouse pad is having issues. It doesn't click without needing to tap it to loosen in up from being locked. Bottom line is HP should not have this on the market. It needs development.

Bought this as an upgrade, well i was wrong, this is not an upgrade but a downgrade... system is very slow, internet very slow, my older laptop was averaging 20 MB but this thing would hardly reach 5 MB. Returned it and now looking for another as the power buttom stoped working after 10 days.

Incredible FAIL. Purchased this laptop July 2014 and 4-1/2 moths later the motherboard/CPU has failed. Best Buy techs tried the HP diagnostic F2 but "boot device not found" message screen kept appearing. Do not purchase this product, you will be greatly disappointed.

    Poor Internet speeds.

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I really wish the internet speed on this laptop was acceptable but it is not unless your transmitter (router or tethering phone) is literally right next to the laptop. Geek Squad could didn't resolve it and tried to pass it off as an ISP or router issue... Toshiba support totally did not take the issue seriously. My phone and older laptop get really good speeds at home (I have FIOS) talking 25Mbps and this laptop gets only 4 to 6 Mbps, at Starbucks or other hotspots, my phone gets 25-30Mbps, and this laptop gets <1-2Mbps. Otherwise, the other big problem with this laptop is the screen. although picture quality is really good, there is way too much reflection. Bummer, I will be returning it tomorrow :(

Opened the laptop and 250 upgrades to be installed before I could even reach the set up phase. Spend a little more and get yourself a better laptop. Cheap material. Detachable screen function does not make it a better laptop.
