I've moved on and up to Windows 10!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've never used a laptop with so many features. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was for me to learn how to transition from Windows 7 to 10. This HP laptop has such an easy touch--love the scrolling on Facebook and the sound quality for Pandora absolutely blew me away!

The laptop had an issue and was unusable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this as a present for my wife and when we opened it and got it running, it said it had a cooling fan issue that was critical and if we used the computer it would not last very long. Very disappointing. Returned it.

Horrible customer service with bad product quality
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought a HP computer from Best buy and send it to Korea for my nephew. but this computer has a problem with the battery so my brother went to HP service center in Korea and confirmed that malfunctioning battery however they asked to pay for the battery even though it's still under one year factory warranty. I think it is a bad customer service with a bad product quality. I asked HP customer service but they asked me to have bring it back from Korea for a battery service. Is it right action for this type of issue for their products?

Stopped working within a few months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went to use one day and it didn't work. Screen said that there wasn't an OS installed. Went to HP tech site and they had a big gray box at the top of the page for computer owners getting the same message as me. Clearly a problem. Now I get to call HP tech support -- just how I want to spend my morning.

After 3-months its slow and unreliable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed to replace my Acer Aspire in a hurry after an accidental drop and a work deadline looming. Ran to Best Buy and after reading reviews and asking for advice from the salespeople chose this handsome looking option. From the start I could tell this was not going to be as good as the Acer it was replacing - it was slower despite better specs. Well, 3-months down the line here and it keeps getting slower - to the point it takes several minutes to boot up - stalls between sign-in screen and being able to use apps/programs for another few minutes. And opening apps/programs takes longer than it ought to. Finally, I am puzzled by just what Bang and Olufsen has contributed to the sound quality here aside from their name for a fee. Id never expect tiny laptop speakers to sound like a symphony hall but these are not really better than any other such speakers I have encountered. Dissappointed overall with this product. 1-star for it at least looking good - oh, wait, the metal shell scratches super easy making the formerly handsome laptop look rugged when it shouldnt.

Your HP daily driver

Not worth its price tag
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last 3 laptops have all been HP's and they have all be great, so when my new one started to overheat and lose functionality in the key board,I decided to stick with the same brand. I also decided to go with a more expensive model hoping it would last longer. Sadly, this one is a disappointment. I have a 3 main concerns that ultimately lead to a 4th with the device. Those 3 are processor speed, Wi fi connectivity, and the Mouse pad. And the 4th, is the cost of the device. When I got it home and removed it from the box, I followed the set up instructions inside. After about 2 hours of updates, I was finally ready to go . I clicked on the Microsoft Edge and it took forever to load to simply get to the home screen. It continued to do this so I disconnected as many devices from my wi fi as possible because I thought that may be the problem, it wasnt. I began to simply explore the computer and I noticed any program I opened was running extremely slow. My personal belief is that the processing power of the computer is mostly going to the touch screen and the tablet aspects rather than the actual use of the programs on it. As for Wi fi connectivity, once I got Edge to work, every 20 minutes or so, the wifi would stop working. I again, thought it might be the devices I had connected, so I looked at my internet package and it said I was fine with up to 12 devices, I was only at 4 at the time, and I turned my old computer on and it was functioning fine. . Each time the internet stopped working on my new laptop, i opened my old one to check and see if it was still functioning and it was, same was true of my phone and PS4. The mouse pad in and of itself is a bad design. It is a one button design, meaning that there is no separate pointer, right and left click. This wouldnt be so bad if you did not have to click in the very far bottom corners of the pad to get the right and left click functionalities. And even that only works some times. Other times the click function does not work at all, and you have to use the touch screen, which after the first 3 days, i mostly just used it in tablet mode because of this. All of this accumulates into the product not being worth the price tag. My last 3 HP laptops were all 350 dollars or less, all with lower processing speeds and less versatility, and I would say they were all better products(faster, less problems) than this one. It is entirely possible that I have a defective model, but based on some of the other reviews, it looks like this is an issue with this design. I will be returning this as soon as I do some research on my next laptop.

So Far Not Impressed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When my HP Pavilion desktop died, I decided to go with a laptop. First stop - Consumer Reports. Unable to locate their specific #1 choice(Dell Inspiron), I chose this model as it was on the recommended list and had what I needed at a price that works given the relatively short life span of laptops. Got it several days ago. No problems with initial start up. Got my Norton subscription transfered over and set Carbonite working on transferring my files. When I went to check on the progress several hours later I was surprised to see that a Windows 10 update had occurred and shut down the computer. Logged back in and got the "need to restart" message. Went ahead and shut it completely down - after all it was 2am. But something made me turn it back on. All I got was a black screen, with the computer running making sounds like it was possessed! Attempted to shut it down - no luck. Finally did a hard stop. Restarted it and got the endless spinning wheel for about 10 minutes before the annoying "We're updating your blah blah" message followed by the "It's taking a bit longer..." message. When it finally opened for business I got numerous "App not responding" messages, and sluggish or no response using the touch screen or touch pad. It took 20 minutes just to shut down. Started working with it again today. Have it connected directly to my ether net to aid the Carbonite transfer. Slow start up, not responding apps, email not syncing - laughably while my Samsung Tablet is chugging along, opening apps, websites and email with no problem. With 8GB/1TB and an Intel core, I expected this HP 2-in-1 would be faster than the recently deceased 8 year old desktop which I'd updated from Vista to Windows 10! Wrong! Can't imagine gaming on this. Save yourself the hassle and avoid this dud!

Troubles with my laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this laptop in store probably almost 2 weeks ago and i have had to factory restore it 2 times already. When i reset it, it automatically updates which is what seems to make my screen go black everytime. Didn't purchase extremely expensive warranty because i figured its brand new so i shouldn't have problems for a long time. I use it for school and because of the problem i have been set back in school work multiple times. Don't know how to stop it from doing the update that makes my screen black. Any information on how to fix it will be much appreciated
