    I was out of ink and bought the substitute. But the quality of printing was poor and I replaced it with the original HP ink. It is slightly more expensive, but worth the price.

    I had previously purchased an off-brand set of ink cartridges for my HP printer. At first they seemed to work, but within a week or so each failed. The true HP cartridges work just fine.

    The cost of the toner is offset by the amount of time it lasts. I have been using mine for 2 years and have not changed the colored cartridges to date

    Just get the branded toner. You will regret the off-brand purchase in this category for sure, once it ruins your machine and project.
