Stand is unstable; screen shakes a lot

The picture is sharp and clear. But the place where the monitor attaches to the stand is flimsy and unstable. The monitor shakes a lot when a fan blows on it, or the desk is bumped, or someone simply walks by. The shaking and vibration more than overrides the otherwise clean picture. I replaced this HP monitor with an ASUS VG245H monitor that is stable as a rock. I'm very unhappy with the HP-24F purchase. I'd return it if I could, Unfortunately, before I could take it back to the store my cat chewed on the corner and punched a hole in the very thin screen.
