This 27in monitor is a quality choice for a great price. This is a large 27in monitor full HD monitor. It has razor thing bezels, and it is extremely thin/light weight. These two factors make it easier to fit on a desk but get a larger screen. It is made of high quality material and feels premium. It has a 100hz high refresh rate which makes the user experience top notch. Although the screen is full HD I wish it was a slightly higher resolution. It does not look bad, but a higher resolution allows you to fit more on the screen. The other downside is that it does not have any mounting points on the back to mount it on a wall or multi-screen stand. On the bright side it does come with a very nice stand that allows you to adjust it up, down, back, and forward. The base is nice and flat allowing you to put stuff on top of it. Overall, this is a great monitor with vibrant colors. It is perfect for entertainment and productivity. If you are building out a home office 1 or 2 of these monitors would be a great option. If you are looking for the highest resolution monitor this is probably not it but you will also not find one in this price range. HP makes high quality products, and this is one of them.

Had this less than seven months & it died. Ran fine last night, get home will not turn on. Moved power cords to different strip, plugged/unplugged power cords, tried direct into wall, nothing. Won’t buy into a “Deal” again.

I'm not sure if it was the one I got but the screen had super tiny gridlines. It's possible that it was just the quality of the item. I was not able to get the typing to look clean/not blurry and had to return it.

It's very refreshing to see some office monitors available now with higher than a 60Hz refresh rate. I feel that the gaming market gets the fast refresh rates while the business monitors designed for managed work flow gets largely ignored when it comes to this feature. Thanks to HP, your videos at work will look a lot smoother using the HP Series 5 527SH. I have been pleasantly surprised at just how great the colors pop on this monitor and have been using it for my remote IT job. The thin profile is not heavy and though it's not really designed to be portable, you could easily bring this along to a hotel or conference. The display is virtually bezel free so there are no distractions from what you're doing. The monitors height can be adjusted for taller people or for your standing work desk. Pairing this monitor with a webcam would make an excellent work from home solution for anyone looking for a svelte, very thin, and manageable portable workstation to add the much-needed screen real estate that the mobile workforce requires. And it works with Chromebooks.

HP Monitor: 527sh: Amazing Midrange Monitor.

As a long time and current user of HP monitors, I was extremely excited to test out the latest model: the HP Series 5 527sh. Sporting a thin bezel with height adjustment, the new 527sh features an IPS panel that should provide sharp and colorful images, while also providing increased viewing angles. Additionally, I was also pleased that it supports refresh rates up to 100Hz at 1080p. As such, I was excited to dig in and see how the new HP 527sh performs. Once you have completely unboxed your HP 527sh monitor, the setup should be relatively straightforward: the base comes in two pieces, both of which snap in easily and are secured by a few threaded screws that can be twisted manually. In addition, the monitor comes with one HDMI cable. Moving on to the physical aspects of the monitor, the 527sh features two HDMI ports and a single VGA connection. Personally, I would have liked to see one DisplayPort instead of the VGA, but nonetheless the VGA certainly provides high compatibility for older machines. Another highlight of the 527sh is that the connections go straight back into the device as opposed to the up and under approach that so many monitors still employ. I immensely appreciate this as I have never been a fan of trying to connect the cables at the bottom. As for the height adjustment, the 527sh’s retraction along the base is extremely smooth yet sturdy enough that it holds the screen in place. The 25 degrees tilt was another surprise too as my previous monitor did not pivot. Lastly, the 527sh sports an anti-glare coating that is typical of most panels. I would have preferred a glossy finish as I have always liked the bolder color contrast that those typically have over the matte finish, but it is certainly not a dealbreaker. Overall, I think most will be pleased with the 527sh. Moving on, as for display quality, I wanted to try and keep the settings relatively close to default so you can get a sense on how the image will look. You will almost certainly need to adjust accordingly to your preference. As typical of almost every monitor, the settings can be accessed via buttons underneath the bottom right-hand side of the monitor. By default, the 527sh was set to the neutral color preset with 100% contrast and brightness at 80%. As expected, the monitor defaults to 60Hz. The color preset options include warm, cool, native, night, HP enhanced, and custom. The rest of the presets are typical of other monitors, though the HP enhanced one seemed to sharpen the text way too much for me personally. For image settings, the response time was set to level 1 (slowest), which I thought was an odd way to list the setting; a numerical system makes more sense with 5ms GTG being the fastest. Sharpness also used a level system as opposed to the more common 1-100 value you typically see. As for the rest of the options, the rest should be self-explanatory. I do want to mention that under the power options the auto sleep is enabled by default in case your monitor cuts out unexpectedly. As for picture quality, I thought the color was quite decent: whites on websites and word documents were not as washed out as I expected. All the colors seemed to be represented quite well: red, greens, and blues were all clear and vibrant. Switching to the Dynamic Contrast mode on, the color and brightness increased a decent amount. I also tested the reversed and maxed out the brightness to a 100 then toggled the Dynamic contrast setting though did not perceive the same change I noted before. Furthermore, I was also extremely excited that the computer I tested it on (Intel Graphics 610) immediately saw that the monitor was capable of 100Hz. For a midrange monitor, this is huge benefit as you are usually limited to 60Hz. Scrolling on various websites at 100Hz was extremely smooth and vastly superior to 60Hz. Even typing on various documents, I could see a major improvement. Lastly, while not completely necessary, I went ahead and downloaded the HP Monitor Center to see how that would interact with the monitor. Overall, the software allows you change the main options as discussed above. There were a few missing, most notably the power settings, though it did allow you to quickly change the screen orientation. Additionally, the response time setting was also missing. However, it did allow you to set up a color filter and update the firmware, though I would strongly recommend you disable automatic update setting. Overall, the software did not seem to add anything significant as most of the main settings can be controlled via the monitor, but nonetheless it is there. In conclusion, the 527sh is a feature rich midrange monitor that should certainly provide a comfortable and quality driven experience. With a color centric IPS panel and up to 100Hz, you could not ask for more, especially since the focus of the 527sh is to provide a monitor for general home and business use. Additionally, it also supports height adjustment and can be tilted slightly back or forward. As for the picture, color was good out of the box, but might need to be tweaked to your liking. Furthermore, the 527sh was brighter than I expected it to be which is certainly another plus. Overall, I think the 527sh provides a good value and should certainly be considered if you need a new monitor. Thus, the 527sh comes recommended.

    Great looking FHD monitor!

The HP Series 5 27-inch FHD Monitor is an all around great 1080p monitor that looks stunning in almost any environment or setup. With some of the thinnest bezels around and an all around thin and sleek looking aesthetic this is really a beautiful looking monitor. The 100Hz refresh rate makes anything moving on your screen look crisp with no artifacts or blurriness. The only real complaint I have with this monitor is that it isn't VESA compatible making a multi-monitor setup pretty impractical which is a shame with how thin the bezels are on this monitor it would look amazing in a multi-monitor setup. I have seen adaptors for other HP monitors from third party sellers which make some of these HP monitors VESA compatible and I expect one will be made for this particular model eventually, but it's just a shame that HP couldn't just make it VESA compatible or have an optional mount available through there store that would do the same. Other than that minor complaint I have no other issues with this monitor and I think it is a great fit for any setup and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great looking and very aesthetic FHD monitor.

The HP - 27" IPS LED FHD 100Hz Monitor is great for those of you that are needing that additional monitor or desktop space. It doesn't take up much space on already very crowded desk. The design and function of the LED monitor look and function excellently. Set up was very simple, packing and instructions are also very well done. HP seems to pivoting towards using all recycled products for it's packaging. I was happy with this monitor until I put it next another existing HP monitor I currently have. This older model is about 4 years old, includes HDR and supports a much higher resolution. The difference between when initially setting up the 2nd monitor was jarring. If you're expecting this to look good next to an HDR monitor then I would suggest not purchasing it as a second monitor. If you're getting 2 of these to use you'll be in good shape. I had a heck of a time trying to calibrate the second monitor to even nearly match the quality of the other monitor. This is a great option for a second screen if you can get past how dated it looks (imo). I really hope HP ditches this format and gets all of their products on par with released products from years ago. This monitor is a step backwards.

The HP series 5 27" IPS LED FHD 100Hz Monitor is the perfect monitor for office productivity, video and light gaming. The good: the monitor is super bright, bright enough for any space. In my slightly dim office the screen brightness is at 40% and at full brightness it hurts the eyes. Moving to a bright, sunlit space, the monitor is still plenty bright enough at 80%. Contrast is good as well and has many levels of adjustment. Speaking of adjustments, most settings can be accessed via the HP app, or by the menu buttons on the monitor itself. I find the app much easier and quicker to use. There are two HDMI ports and one VGA port. The monitor has a nice tilt and height mechanism. Watching HD video is pleasing. The screen feels very large on my smallish desk. The monitor sits only about 18 inches from the front of the desk, and the ideal placement would probably be closer to 24-30 inches away. The bad: HP uses a proprietary power plug, and I've never been a fan of proprietary power plugs and in today's world these kinds of devices can be powered by USB-C. Even a standard 5.5mm/2.1mm plug would be better. There are no USB ports and it would have been nice to include some for a 5v power source. This is a production monitor, but it also would have been nice to have either built in speakers or a sound port of some kind.

Great monitor, I especially appreciate the high contrast and max brightness, and the adjustable stand. The one thing I would change is I wish that the stand could be adjusted even taller; I ended up putting it on top of a stack of printer paper to add height.
