Greta monitor for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this since a lot of friends recommended this. It’s a solid monitor and it’s even better if you get this on a sale. Unfortunately mine got stolen even before I got it but still a great monitor.

Screen Damaged
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially worked great. Screen is beautiful. After about 2 weeks there’s a line running down the screen. Was 2 days after the return date. Which is 2 weeks not 30 days. HP won’t fix it. So wasted money at this point.

HP Monitor
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does not come with sound. Salesperson did not ask if I wanted sound, which I did. At the time it did not come to mind to ask. Also you need to do more than plug it in which I asked about with an answer of sure just plug it in. Had to order speakers from Amason.

Not suitable for office work
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 27 inch monitor is not suitable for seeing code on code editors and also the font of the words in the emails on this screen are also not sharp. Better if 27 inch monitors are only sold with 1440pixels or more. It would be good if Best buy recommends products to the customer based on customer's requirement.

DO NOT BUY AN HP PRODUCT!!!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never dealt with a company as horrible as HP. It is impossible to get an actual human being that can help you. They have had my monitor that I use for work for almost two months to fix/replace and they have yet to send it back yet. No call, no email, zero contact/followup. Always at least two hours trying to find someone who can help you. I only had this monitor for under a year before it started to have black shadowing through it. Buy a different monitor and stay as far away from HP products as you can.

Monitors look great, no power cord though
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ordered two of these: open box, excelent condition. However, one of them came without a power cord. Not sure how they could have possibly sent this without the power cord.

Huge monitor with comfortable range of settings
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is bright, crisp, and huge. I honestly am pretty blown away by just how much bigger it seems than my 24” monitor. However, that statement would be true of most 27” screens. It has a very thin and discreet bezel, which does seem to maximize the screen without making it seem heavy or boxed in if that makes sense. The screen does seem comfortable for my eyes. Whether the credit for comfort belongs to the sheer size of the screen or the fidelity itself is less easy to know for sure. I do think, generally, that the settings help make the screen less agitating and more comfortable. The ability to fill the screen with nice, smooth lettering also helps when one types and reads all day, which is a lot of what I do. It is also very possible to do more than one thing on this monitor, filling half of it with one application and half with another, and feel very comfortable. It dwarves 13” laptop screens, and you can actually sit comfortably at a desk without having to be on top of your computer. Now, most 27” monitors would give you that ability, but I do feel like this one is not as fatiguing as some and has a good range of options for keeping my eyes relatively happy. Really, I give it 4.5 stars. There are a few little things that bug me (see the end of the review) but on balance, I think this is a great monitor. Screen settings: Primarily I use this monitor for work, which involves a lot of word processing and editing, pdf document-reading, entering data on web applications, and some work on graphics. There are several tint options. During the day, the “neutral” and “blue” settings can be nice. At night, the “neutral” and “night” seem best. The yellow tone of the “night” setting is noticeable at first, but quickly my eyes adjust to the warm screen and this is great for working on white screens—like for word processing—at night. This also is nice for me because I think I notice fewer “floaters” or artifacts from my eyes when I look at the yellow screen compared to bright white. I find the “native” setting to be harsh during the day or at night, but it might work if you need highest contrast and brightness for a particular application. The “hp enhance” setting is not great for text, but it does bring a lot of sharpness when trying to work on photo editing, for example. On the “hp enhance” mode, you also have a choice of “low,” “medium” and “high” settings, for dialing in the sharpness. There is also an option for dialing in your own RGB settings. I’m not finicky enough for that, but someone else might appreciate it. Outside of the color tones, there are also conventional controls for brightness and contrast. There are also settings for freesync, sharpness, and response time, as well as scaling, but not always is scaling an option. This range of adjustments is nice, although the color settings are also per-scripted for brightness and contrast. I should add as well that adjusting sharpness is, again, something that is touchy. A little fuzziness makes text look a little rounder and less harsh. Saving the highest sharpness settings for media editing only might make sense. The input options are good—two HDMI inputs and VGA give good versatility for this monitor. I switch between two computers, but, because of USB C issues I generally am passing through a dongle to the monitor and not using both HDMI at once. But you can, and there is an “auto select” option that means the monitor will use whichever HDMI is connected at a given time. It’s nice to have the VGA option, I guess, but I doubt I will ever use it. Now, I will say that the monitor seemed a little confused when I first hooked it up. This process is not complicated; it’s a few steps to put the base on the monitor, plug in cords, and power it up. But at first, the HDMI cable that came with the monitor did not want to talk to my computer. Another cord I had worked, but I had to do some switching around. Eventually, everything worked. I don’t know if I just hadn’t gotten the plug in quite tight enough the first time or if something else was the problem, but I was initially worried that they gave me a bum cable. As well, I have sometimes had issues that connecting a PC to the monitor occasionally results in some add scanning. Again, I don’t know why this is—text for example will look weirdly thin or wrongly rendered briefly—and then, if I reconnect the dongle or put the computer to sleep and turn it back on, it goes back to displaying properly. This glitch could be a computer or software issue, but it’s a little annoying. I’ve successfully used a mac with this monitor as well, and had no problems with scaling or timing out. Occasionally I have had problems with this with other monitors, but with limited testing, this HP seems perfectly happy with a mac. I’ve watched streaming video on the screen and it works well, though the sound issues make it less viable as a television replacement. Still, there was less motion blur or pixelated graphics in very busy action sequences on this monitor than I might expect. Overall, it handled video well, and the audio delay between computer and monitor was fairly small. I’m not sure it’s a great gaming monitor. I didn’t use it for this purpose, and the refresh rate is probably lower than desired for gaming. 144 HZ seems like a better choice; this monitor has an optimal mode at 60HZ for 1920X1080. There are a few cons : 1) there are no speakers or audio outputs; 2) no display port if that’s important to you. These are not secrets; the monitor does not claim these things. But, it’s a consideration at this price point to think about whether the lack of these options is a problem for an individual buyer. The screen does tilt and has a fairly wide range of motion. That’s nice for adjusting while sitting or standing. The screen also raises and lowers on a nice, very sturdy arm and the base is unobtrusive but very sturdy. Nothing wobbles here. It does not, however, turn for a portrait layout. I have this option on my smaller monitor, and it’s a good one for people who do a lot of text work as I do. That said, the hugeness of this screen makes it extremely useful for almost anything. 3) I really dislike the menu. The adjustments are pretty useful, but the buttons on the bottom of the screen and the navigation just feels counterintuitive to me. This is a relatively small gripe, but adjustments are annoying to make and I feel like this should be so much easier.

Fuzzy letters when reading text
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The "Easy on the eyes" feature made text fuzzy. It gave me a slight headache pretty quickly. I returned it to Best Buy and bought an Acer monitor, which I'm happy with
