Cartridge Print Quality

(My first replacement) Now, I know how to do it. I'm disappointed in the quality of print. Though I haven't changed any settings, if even possible to set a lighter print for economical purposes, the print is much lighter than the original cartridge provided for most of its life! I've printed fewer than a dozen pages and thought, with each successive one, the print would be darker.

I am very sorry that your cartridge doesn't seem to be a good one. I can understand why you rated this rather low.
You can try adjusting the settings, but if doesn't seem to work, you can return it or exchange it either to the store or by mail. Information about that can be found at:

Oh no! I see you are not getting the page yields that were advertised. I would like to help improve your customer experience and get the full value out of your cartridges.
- Just to let you know, the page yields in the advertisements are an average. Print capacity varies depending on the printer, habits, paper, and other factors.
- To save ink, limit the time your printer is active. Turn off the printer, when possible.
- Avoid printing lots of designs, graphics, images, or very text-heavy pages.
- Thick paper can use more ink as well.

I am sorry that you have had this experience. Perhaps you were printing a lot of high-density print jobs. High-density prints (such as images and graphs) will use up a cartridge faster.
Here are some things that might help you get savings:
- Most people have found that the X version of the cartridges are a much better value, if your printer can use them.
- Make use of the printer's draft mode whenever possible, to help stretch out the toner
If it appears that poor performance is due to a defect, you should look into returning it to the seller.

I was concerned because I had opened it. They could see it hadn't been used, and immediately started the return process, and I fit my printer ink a few days later.
