To get the best results, no matter what you are doing, always use name brand products. I've got a HP printer and I only use HP ink.

Best Buy mostly has my HP brand ink in stock and the pricing is competitive and reasonable when compared to office supply stores; also, gaining points on purchases is another benefit.
