I get that you have a few separate matters with your printer. I can understand why you would feel less content with our products. I aim to rectify these events and assist with easy printing.
The concern about authentic HP products is verifiable by visiting www.hp.com/anticounterfeit. Best Buy is a vendor that gets the cartridges directly from HP. Therefore, the cartridges should be HP ink.
The rejection error message is because your printer is not recognizing the cartridge. Shut down the printer and unplug it from the power source. Remove the cartridge from the printer. Power up the printer again, then insert the cartridge. Now the printer should realize it is a new cartridge.
