I think my ink evaporates
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I think my ink evaporates because even not using it often it runs out every 3 months. During heavy use good luck getting 20 pictures of 50 one side pages.

Posted .Hello,
I am sorry that you are not getting longer lasting usage of your cartridges. When you are not printing high-density prints (like photos) you should have the cartridges last much longer.
Provided the cartridge is not damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. High-density prints will require more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
That said, I have a few tips that might help:
- You can use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings, whenever possible, to save ink.
- You would normally find XL cartridges to be a better value.
- Shutting the printer down between uses can help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets the printer ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.
- If you suspect that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you are always free to contact the seller.
If none of those tips work, and if a defective genuine HP cartridge is not replaced by the seller (and is still within the warranty end dates on the cartridge) you can reach out to us for support: hp.com/contactHP

Ordered 2 Blk Cartridges, Opened 2nd &won't work.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I went to use the 2nd cartridge, even though it shows full ink, it will not print. Gives me an error message instead. This is the second time I've had problems with this ink.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this and every time I turn the printer on it states that I must use an original HP ink cartridge and it does not want to print. I bought this brand new at Best Buy.

Lasts a bit longer than color
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Black lasts a little bit longer than CMY, but still runs out quickly. Very annoying to constantly have to see ink low.

Posted .Hi,
I am sorry that you feel the black cartridge doesn't last long enough. I can imagine how annoying that can be.
Many find that the XL versions of the cartridges are a better value. There are also ways to save ink that might help you out:
- A lot of black is used in most printouts, so it usually runs out faster. However, using the draft setting on your printer can help save ink
- Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer to 'park' so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.
When it appears that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, you can always contact the seller about that.

Ink cartridge not fresh?
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The ink cartridge is streaking already. It's been less than a month, and barely used.

Posted .Hello there,
I am sorry that you’re having streaking on your printouts. With your type of printer, problems with the print quality are usually always the fault of a clogged up printhead inside the printer.
There is a cleaning routine available from the printer's menu that you can use to clear out the inkjets. The routine might need to be run more than once to clean out the clogs completely and get the ink flowing freely again
To keep this from happening again, it is important to either:
- leave the machine on so that the maintenance routines keep the clogs away
- if you turn it off, be sure to use the printer's power button so the printer has time to move into a position that protects the printhead from developing dried ink clogs.

Required ink for my printer. Captive Customer!

Easy to use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The printer itself works great and am happy with the quality. But the cartridges dry up/run out far too quickly and they cost too much for what little you get.
