    I like to have an extra ink cartridge on hand, that if/when I run out of ink, I don't have to run to the store to get more when I am printing, I don't do a lot of printing, but it is very annoying to run out of ink in the middle of printing.

    I usually don't buy this one, just the XL, but my printer was not printing properly and wondered if the ink dried up over the hot summer or it was the printer. Turned out it was the ink, this works fine. I don't expect to print too much from it, compared to the XL, but if you don't print much, this works like it should.
