Printer: HP7520 Since the printer used so much ink so fast I decided to buy another brand. With HP you have no choice. Refills will run out even faster.

I am sorry that the cartridge leaked. That seems frustrating.
It could have been damaged, or there might have been a problem with the pull tab for the plastic wrapping. A vent will normally be opened when the outer plastic covering is completely removed, by pulling its tab. That vent needs to be open to prevent the cartridge from leaking when you remove the orange tab prior to installing the cartridge.
If it appears to have been damaged or defective, please return it.According to the Best Buy website: "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to Best Buy and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289)."
