They have to, bc generic ink cartridges will not work in HP printers, at least in my experience. I like HP printers, but it frustrates me that HP ink cartridges stop working when there’s still about 15% ink left in them. That being said, I learned recently that ink cartridges dry up if you don’t print often. The more you print, the longer they last. So, use your printer often!
