    HP produces quality ink. I just wish they would last longer. I normally purchase the XL but I guess over time it dries out. There is no way that I print 1000 pages within 3 to 6 months. I do not use my printer that much but I have to purchase black ink at least twice a year.

    The HP XL Black high yield ink cartridge is the best value. You get about 1000 pages printed with this size, versus only 250 pages for the regular cartridge. But it's only twice the price. AND, if you are a Best Buy Member you receive a 15% discount on ink. WIN-WIN

    Hard to believe, but HP changed the physical dimensions of this cartridge and did not change the model number. The cartridge Best Buy shipped did not fit in my printer. They changed the size in Sept 2010, but I suspect I received a cartridge that was sitting on the shelf for a while. Before I read the HP notes on this, I called HP customer support and they denied the size change had taken place. I returned the cartridge to Best Buy, and they nicely exchanged the cartridge for a more recent date code, same model number.     I was previously purchasing ink from an office supply competitor until I discovered the same ink at Best Buy at a better price plus free shipping. You can't beat that combination. Excellent product at a great price.
