Why not put ink cartridges symbols on outer boxes.

Suggestion- Why not put HP ink cartridges symbols on the outer boxes, so you don't buy the wrong cartridge.

After some use you get error message.

I think I've bought 2 or 3 of these and they work great at first but then I think the sensor goes bad or their firmware is off. It might think you have the smaller size and after so many pages printed it says ERROR NOT HP AUTHENTIC PRODUCE RETURN TO PLACE OF PURCHASE" Your warranty is voided on this machine. Then after that it starts to not print in a reliable manor. Some words don't fully get printed. My verdict is that I get the same amount of pages printed with the regular size as I do with the XL size. I will no longer buy the XL. I don't find that it gives you more pages printed. What it does do is make me waste paper because of the poor print quality after you get the error message.

      Hello,

I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the page yield of the XL. It is usually a better buy.

The error you saw will sometimes show up when an authentic cartridge is badly depleted. More details are provided in this online document: support.hp.com/document/c03772927

Provided that the cartridge is not damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. High-density prints (such as photos) will require more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.

That said, I have a few tips that might help lower your ink usage:
      - You can use the printer's draft mode and black-only settings, whenever possible, to save ink.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can also help; however, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That lets the printer ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying.

it seems that the low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, it is always an option to contact the seller for replacement.

When a defective genuine HP cartridge is not replaced by the seller (and is still within the warranty end dates on the cartridge) you can reach out to us for support: hp.com/contactHP

To much money for to little ink

I barely use my printer but always seem to buy ink. I have to replace all the ink 4 times a year. Maybe made 300 copies and barely 100 pictures a year. I have had the printer for almost 3 years. The ink costs $60 each time. I read switch to HP over cannon because of ink cost and how much you get out of them. Not even close.... I would barely buy 2 sets a year with same usage. Also, normally my canon would run out of colors randomly telling me it uses them properly. It seems odd that the HP would run out of ALL ink at the same time since day one.

    Incompatible

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this cartridge to use on my Deskjet 5525. The printer refused the cartridge showing a “Incomparable cartridges” message. I tried to return the product at the store and they refused to return saying they couldn’t return a open product. How could I try the cartridge on my printer without open it? How would I know was not incompatible. My printer identification was on the cartridge box.

      Hello Leonardo,

I am sorry that this happened, but maybe we can fix this.

The cartridge should be compatible with your printer, but there might be something that is making the printer not recognize it. The pull tab might not have been completely removed, or the cartridge is not completely seated into its slot. You can find steps to help figure that out in this online document (you can skip Solution one): support.hp.com/document/c02924284

If that doesn't help, the cartridge is probably defective and you should see if you can get a replacement for it.

The 564 Xl is not working on my printer. The printer calls for HP564 Photosmart Plus. The salesgirl recommended this. Please advise.

      Hello,

The XL cartridge should work on your printer. It is upsetting that you are having this problem. Let's walk you through all of the solutions.

It is plausible that the XL cartridge is unsecured within the cartridge holder. Ensure you hear a clicking sound. It could be that the printer isn't recognizing the cartridge. Restart the printer, then reinsert the cartridge.

The last option is a return or exchange. Visit the Best Buy return site at https://www.bestbuy.com/site/help-topics/return-exchange-policy/.
