I'm sorry that you were disappointed with the page yield of these cartridges.
It is difficult to say how long before a cartridge will need to be replaced. Provided that it is not damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it will last. High-density prints will use up a cartridge rapidly, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
I'm concerned about you having performance issues with the cartridges. It could be that you are turning the printer off without using the power button on the printer itself. The printer needs time to 'park' itself where it will protect the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper. Using the printer's power button will help keep the cartridge from excess drying and clogs.
If you feel there was something wrong with the cartridge, contact the seller.

Printhead cleanings, etc. have not improved the printouts. I am considering that I might have to purchase a new printer, as this cartridge has done so much damage to current printer.

The cartridges are easy to load and print until completely empty. Have had no ink related problems so far with the printer. Ordered replacement ink cartridge from Best Buy. Delivery was as scheduled and free.
