I'm sorry that you are not liking the value of the cartridges. High-density prints will use up a cartridge rapidly, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry. Black is used a lot in almost every single print job.
Using the draft and black only settings on your printer helps save ink. Also, shutting the printer down between uses can help. However, you always have to use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer 'park' itself so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying.

Bad printer cartridge

I exchanged it a few months later but it worked only for a few days. It's full of ink but it's not working. No issues with the color cartridge.
