The he salesman asked what printer I had and I told him. I didn’t realize I’ll I got back home that it was the wrong ones. Sold me 61 instead of 64 hp cartridge. A total waste of money cause the just don’t work. To far and way too much trouble to try and bring back. Won’t buy them there again

I am sorry that you don't consider the cartridges to be a good value. However, I can provide some insight as to why it’s advantageous to use our cartridges and ink. Original HP cartridges are designed to work better with our printers to deliver quality and reliability.
HP has formulated inks that are water-resistant and fade-resistant. While those qualities might not be immediately evident, it’s important when it comes to the permanence and durability of your prints. If you’re interested, you can read more here: www8.hp.com/us/en/printers/print-permanence
Generic ink usually does not perform as well and the refilling process damages the cartridge. That is probably why some shops will limit the number of refills. Also, please be aware that any damage to the printer caused by the leaking or corrosion from generic ink refills will not be covered by warranty.
I can certainly understand wanting to find more affordable options for your printing, but there are always trade-offs that should be considered.

Well, I print 3 crossword puzzles a day and this $15 cartridge lasts me on average 37 days! That's 111 copies! It certainly doesn't come close to the 190 pages per cartridge that is advertised. And I use draft quality setting so I get more use out of it. I will never buy another HP printer again.

When I got home the ink cartridge was clearly the wrong one. Had to go back to the store and return it for the correct one.

VERY DISAPPOINTED, while the combo pack has one HP 61 black ink cartridge and one HP 61 Tri-color ink cartridge, and normally will last me for some time, I must have been given an extrememly old package, as the ink ran out after 1 month...with minimal use.
