Consider that most users print in black ink more frequently than color ink. Two months seems like a short time, but your printing habits drastically change the time a cartridge lasts. If you print an average of twenty pages every day, the black ink cartridge could quickly finish by the end of two months. By contrast, if you only printed ten pages over two months, the cartridge likely dried from contact with air.

Why so little ink?

I am sorry you have had this experience. I can understand your disappointment when the cartridges seem to run out too quickly.
Doing high-density prints (like images and graphs) will use more ink, especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the surrounding air is dry.
Here are some things that might help lower your ink usage:
- Consider using XL cartridges. Most people say they are a much better value
- Set the printer to draft mode whenever possible
- Using the black-only setting will save on colored ink usage.
- Shut the printer down between uses
- Always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That gives it time to ‘park’ so that the cartridges are protected from excessive drying
- Subscribe to Instant Ink, then you only pay by the page and not for the cartridges themselves

Pretty disappointed so had to get another pack. We will see how they hold up.

Purchased cartridge in store and upon installation the cartilage was defective. You cannot return any cartridge once you open it (even if the cartridge is defective). Purchase from another store or even Amazon so if something is wrong with your purchase you can return it.

It should not be cheaper to buy a new printer than to print. I'm very sorry that the printer yields are so low. First, try to take account of your pages. What type of paper are you using? Second, are you considering any changes to your settings? Switching to black ink saves on color. Try to scan all of your pages. If you need assistance, our team is always here.

Wish these would last longer

The ink on the other hand is not the most affordable. It seems to run out pretty quickly too, and they want to waste ink by performing a cartridge alignment. I'm a bit cynical about how they track your ink levels and do not allow third party cartridges, why have DRM on a cartridge?! I'm always doing research into replacing my printer, ideally one that doesn't track your usage.

I guess that happens from time to time but the issue was upon trying to exchange it. Since I obviously had to open the package, staff gave me a Difficult time and that was so not necessary.
