      Hi JP,

      I am sorry that you received a cartridge that did not work. Assuming that a cleaning (an option from the printer menu) does not help, you must have gotten a defective cartridge and can return it.

      According to the Best Buy site's Return & Exchange Policy information:
      "If you receive a product that is damaged in shipping, defective or that is not the product you ordered, please return it during your return and exchange time period to a Best Buy store and we'll arrange for a replacement. If you would rather return the item by mail during your return and exchange time period, please call us for special instructions at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). We will cover all reasonable and customary ground shipping fees."

To resolve the issue, you can try cleaning the electrical contacts as shown in Step 3 http://hp.care/2qsfLG1. If this doesn’t resolve the error please contact the seller for a replacement. Otherwise, contact HP Support for a replacement http://hp.care/2nbNQFi Note most printers in this product range can operate in single cartridge mode (i.e.: remove the black and operate with just the tricolor cartridge) HP
