    I have tried various discount brands of ink cartridges and have experienced problems with most of them such as failure to print and short usable life expectancy. I have also tried refills with similar results. I buy only original HP cartridges now without a problem. I believe they are worth the extra cost if they do cost a little more.

    HP has been my preferred choice for printing/copying/scanning needs for both personal and professional use. The fact that they are one of the few to offer color ink in just one cartridge is and in XL capacity is why I originally choose an HP product and has since become my printer of choose for the past 15 years. This only down side is that while the offer multi-packs in the XL black ink OR TriColor they do not offer a Multi Pack that has Both XL ((for example: 61XL Black & 61XL TriColor (1 cartridge of each)) Which is why I only gave this product a four star rating.

    I usually buy the XL as it provides more ink and is a better value. If you can find the 2 pack of XL, that's the best value.

    This XL ink cartridge really does last a lot longer. If I remember to use the draft, black and white option, on my HP printer when I do not need color printing, I can just about get through a 500 sheet ream of paper before running out of ink.

    Always buy from BestBuy. There are questionable products out there. I have been a victim. BestBuy ink is authentic and you can never buy a fake HP ink from them. Very longlasting.
