    Had a regular ink which is the HP61 before but it only gives me a week before the ink empties. This ink HP61XL gives me more printing jobs and it took 2-3months before i purchase a new ink.

    If you need Black 61 HP Ink, might as well go XL. Bigger is better when it comes ink. Don't want to be left wanting.

    Getting an XL cartridge is definitely worth it. Original cartridge in my opinion is okay until it dries up and eventually doesn't get as many print as it suppose to get.

    This extra capacity/extra large Black ink cartridge is good for its additional ink/pages to be printed. However, in the long run, especially if the printer is only used occasionally, the ink/cartridge seemed to have dried out for me. Even after 'cleaning' the cartridges via the HP Printer Cleaning Function.
