Posted .Hi,
I'm sorry that your ink seems to be too expensive. Perhaps I can give you some tips to save on ink and that will help.
Here are a few facts:
- A high-density print (like a photo) will use the ink more quickly than a low-density print (a text-only document), especially if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry
- Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save ink.
- Shutting the printer down between uses can help. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer 'park' itself so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying.
- If you suspect there was something wrong with the cartridge, you are always free to contact the seller.
If a problem seems to be a genuine HP cartridge that is defective, that it is not replaced by the seller (and is still within the warranty end dates on the cartridge) you can reach out to us for support: hp.com/contactHP

EXPENSIVE
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You decide to purchase the $45 XL cartride to try and save yourself a trip and save a little on bulk pricing. And one month later- after only printing about 20 pages, the ink magically dissapears from the cartridge- or worse, it prints faded despite the printer showing "half full". Time for a new printer.

Posted .Hi Jerry,
I am sorry that the cartridge did not last very long. I can understand why you rated this low.
Unless a cartridge was damaged or defective, the ink usage will determine how long it lasts and there are ways lower your ink usage, including using Instant Ink. Details can be found at: instantink.com
When a cartridge stops working well when it still has ink, you can clean the cartridge. There is an option on the printer menu do that.
If that helps, the printer might have been turned off using a power strip or switch. The printer should always be turned off using the power button on the printer itself. That will let it 'park' so that the cartridges are protected from excess drying. The drying can cause clogs in the tiny nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper.
Whenever it seems that low page yield was caused by a defective cartridge, it is always an option to contact the seller about it.
